*This is a very old story idea of mine, I have hella receipts to prove it, this is an original idea from me and to the best of my knowledge it hasn't been done before and if you see any story similar to this one please let me know so that I can report for plagiarism*
This story is set in the 1800s and will be told mostly from the point of view of Polly Anne so expect dialog that reflects this moment in time (eg: Ebonics) the reason I created this story is because all I saw mostly in these type of books on this website is the slave falling in love with the captor and the movies are always like this as well. Which led me to think can there be such a story set in that era without romanticizing slavery? That answer is still unknown but I'll try, think of this as the experiment. All emotions are allowed during this journey into this book but please be respectful. Yes, I will add my little twists&spins on things but I'll try to keep this as accurate to that timeframe and mindset of people back then as possible.
I wasn't going to publish this story until Black History Month, BUT then I decided against it because these type of stories are needed as a reminder to us as descendants of American Chattel Slavery how far we've come as a people especially since the younger generation of Black Americans are SO desensitized to this part of American History.
