Cheyenne threw some hay down for Wah-kee'-ahn and sighed deeply, it was Thursday already and she hadn't seen or heard from Daryl all week.  She half expected him to show up at the ice cream stand but he never did and the longer it went the more she began to believe he had changed his mind.  That's alright, she thought to herself, she had planned on going alone anyway and that was just fine with her but the instant she thought it she knew it was a lie.  She liked talking to him and well looking at him because he was so handsome, but she was really looking forward to spending time with him away from people like Amanda and the craziness of her job.  Getting out her horse brushes she knew it was probably a good thing Daryl had bailed, she really didn't need any crap from Amanda and he was probably nothing but a player anyway.  Resolving herself to the fact that this was a good thing, she still couldn't help but be sad.

"I'm outta here in ten minutes Sam" Daryl yelled "I've stayed late all week and I have stuff to do"

"Alright, we're expecting rain tomorrow so I doubt we'll be up and running, you want your check tonight?" Sam yelled back.

"It would be nice" Daryl laughed.

He didn't mind working construction so much, it was hard work but the pay was good.  Only thing was when the weather was bad most things shut down and he didn't get paid when he didn't work.  They were lucky this week and had a stretch of good weather but he hadn't had time to stop and see Cheyenne and he really wanted to, tonight.  Grabbing his check and jumping in his car he flew home to grab a quick shower and then go see the girl that he hadn't been able to get out of his head for the past few days.  Driving slowly down the road Daryl spied an old farmhouse with a big pond in front of it and knew it had to be it.  Turning into the drive, he drove slowly up to the house and parked his car in the turn around.  Looking at the barn and then the house, he wasn't sure which one she would be in.  Walking up to the door of the house, Daryl knocked lightly and waited.  Taking a step back as a very large and muscular man opened the door, Daryl took all of him in with his long black hair and fierce looking face, he knew in an instant he had to be Cheyenne's father.

"Yes?" the man said.

"Um, hello sir, I'm a friend of Cheyenne's and I told her I would be stopping by, is she home by any chance?" Daryl said nervously.

Daryl felt like a teenage boy again as he felt himself wilt under the glare as the man looked him up and down.

"She's in the barn" the man finally said.

"Thanks" Daryl said softly and scurried off the porch hoping he would never piss that man off.

Walking quickly to the barn, Daryl stopped at the entrance and watched Cheyenne brush her horse as the evening sun streamed through the window making them almost look like a beautiful painting.  Walking further into the barn, Daryl leaned against the wall as he watched her not wanting to interrupt the moment.  Not paying attention to anything but her, Daryl didn't see the bucket in front of him as he tried to get closer for a better look.  Kicking it and hearing a loud clang, he couldn't help but feel embarrassed as she looked up at him in surprise.

"Hey" he said softly "Sorry, I didn't want to interrupt but I guess I did anyway"

"Hey yourself" Cheyenne said, looking at him curiously "I figured you had changed your mind"

"What?  No!" Daryl said in surprise "I've been working late all week but I haven't stopped thinking about you...I mean you and going.  I'm really looking forward to this"

"Oh, okay" Cheyenne said, tossing her brush in the bucket.

"You still okay with me going?" Daryl asked
