An unfortunate kiss ♥

Start from the beginning

“I know mom and I love you too. But I have to go to school. I have to talk to coach about next weeks game. I need to know when we have practice so that way it don’t interrupt my tutoring.”

Sighing, the aggravation from earlier returns. I know the fact that I need Ross to tutor me is my fault, but there were still those moments when I wanted to just give up and whine that it wasn’t fair.

It wasn’t fair that Mr. Vincent was an asshole. It wasn’t fair that I had my first kiss with a guy I don’t even know. It’s not fair that Kassi is now smiling at me, love pouring from every bone in her body.

“I know you need to go, but I have news Grace. Exciting news!” Kassie squeals before grabbing Liams hand. Whatever she is about to say is big if she needed Liams support.

“I want you to be the maid of honor!” She states, shocking me so much that I almost end up passing out from surprise. My mother almost chokes on the sip of water she was about to take and I stare at Kassi opened mouthed.

She must be joking. There is no way, Alyssa, her sister and my least favorite cousin, would stand for it. Sure she was a bitch with a capital B, but still that was her sister. Someone who deserved to be the maid of honor. Someone who wasn’t envious over the fact that her cousin found love before she did.

“What about Alyssa?” My mother asks, beating me to it. Even she knew how much Alyssa would want to be in this wedding.

Even though she spend most of her nights at a bar then at her sister's side, when it came down to it it mattered.

Kassi sighs heavily and Liam takes her other hand, giving it a little squeeze. He’s giving her the reassurance that whatever needs to be said can be told. The little green monster called envy rears it’s head and I look away. Why can’t I just let it go?

Bringing in a deep breath, I decide I can. I’m currently on the hunt for my Prince. The guy that probably gave the best kiss in the history of kisses.

And even if we didn’t end up like Kassi and Liam, it’s okay. I just wanted to give it a try. I wanted to at least attempt the kind of love Kassi is unintentionally flaunting.

I realize Kassi has already started talking and I jump in mid-sentence.

“-plus she acted as if it was the worst thing ever. I just want her to realize that this is my day.She cares about her next buzz more than she does about me. And I know I shouldn’t be so selfish and act as if her problems don’t matter, but when all of her problems are trying to find a guy to buy her a drink, it becomes a problem.”

She brings in a tense break and let’s it out slowly.

“So I told her either she cleans up her act or she’s out of the wedding. She said she didn’t care about my stupid wedding and claimed for me to just go ahead and do it without her. So Grace,”

She turns to me and tries to smile but it turns into a grimace. “Will you please be the maid of honor? I would rather have someone who cares about me than someone who doesn’t.”

I try not to show her how... excited? Nervous? Crazy? This all is. Never did I think this would be an option, and while I would love to be the maid of honor, I also knew Alyssa deserved the spot.

If Kassi went through with this she would come to regret it.

But instead of trying to argue my reasons and be late for school, I just smile and nod. I would worry about the Alyssa/Kassi problem later.

I was already late, I still didn’t do my English homework, and I’m pretty sure Jessie was wondering where I was.

I already knew today was going to be a long day.
