you came in my life
when the world was bleak
no sunrise to look forward too
no moon to kiss goodnight
you stood by my side
and helped me understand
the qualitative importance
of a shorter life
even when i had not long to live,
you made my life an adventure,
filled with incalculable laughter,
and over joyous days
black to grey and finally white,
the colors returned little by little
and linked together
to form a humongous rainbow of life.
i was well again,
happy and healthy
but you went away
under a foreign sway
you came in my life
as a pet
but going away
you took a part of my heart
my heart although now strong,
but empty nonetheless.
