The warm air hit my face as I stepped out of the plane onto the metal stairs, a slight breeze whisking the strands of hair from my face. I pushed a piece of hair behind my ear and took a deep breath, glad to be out of that horrible plane and all the cramped people in it. I hated planes and couldn't handle more than 10 people at once so flights weren't particularly enjoyable.
Walking down the stairs to the warm concrete runway I hooked on my bag and fixed the straps, stepping over the last step as I hit the runway, finally there in Seoul. I'd wanted to visit South Korea so badly almost my whole life and finally I'd arrived. I walked on ahead, following the marked out path and reached the airport, a large grin plastered to my face.
"Mum! We're finally here!" I turned around to shout, seeing her half way down the path. When they had finally caught up I set off again, the second time, my younger brother Max joined me.
"You seem excited." He said glumly, staring ahead. "Mum never picks any place Jacob and I want to go it's always where her, dad and you want to go." He huffed, as he rammed his hands into his pockets.
"Actually I never get to decide where we go, that's why I'm so excited. Mum finally let me pick a destination and I'm actually here!" I replied cheerfully, too caught up in my surroundings.
After making our way though the busy airport we stood outside the front doors, suitcases in hand. The sun was peaking through the clouds and my dad was peaking out of the airport. He was very wary and cautious of places he'd never been before and Seoul was a whole truck load of new.
We loaded our cases and bags into a taxi and gave the driver the address of the apartment we were staying in. Once we'd arrived I immediately got out the car, dragging my suitcase to the front door. I realised I didn't have a key and quickly walked back to my mum, slipping it out of her grasp and walking back to the door just as quick.
I opened the door wide and stepped in, looking around. I wheeled my case in and looked at each room until I found mine. It was larger than I was expecting, with a double bed, a desk with a stool, and a big soft beanbag. One wall was purely windows and looked across the city in front of me, during the day it looked noisy and full and at night, I couldn't wait to find out.
After my parents and brothers had unpacked we decided to go to a nearby supermarket to get some supplies for the house, food and water etc. I unplugged my phone and stuffed it in my pocket, leading my family out the door. I'd done some research on the area and roughly knew where shops and restaurants were, including the one I'd picked. We arrived a couple of minutes later and entered, my mother picking a cart from the rack at the door.
I wandered around for a while, looking at all the traditional Korean dishes, meals and ingredients. I finally caught up to my family once again and discovered they were almost finished with the shopping.
"Is there anything you want us to get you while we're here Y/N,?" My dad asked, lifting some ramen from a shelf to examine it.
"I'll have that," I replied and took it from him, placing it in the cart. "I also want some seaweed, but I know where it is so I'll be right back." I said loudly as I walked off back to another isle.
On my return I turned into the isle I thought my dad was in and found someone else instead. It was two guys, standing talking to each other in Korean, taking up the whole width of the isle. One had short brown hair, a fringe covering his forehead, he was tall and slim, with a cute smile. He wore a loose white shirt with blue jeans and Timberland boots on. The other was around the same height but had deep purple hair, also fringed. He was wearing ripped black jeans and a grey tshirt tucked in at the front, with white sandals on his feet. I slowed down slightly - as I realised they were not who I thought they were going to be - but didn't stop walking. I walked up to them, clearly they hadn't noticed my presence until I was close.
