Q: I have a friend who is one of the most amazing people I have met (even though she can be extremely annoying sometimes). However, an event happened that caused her to feel dejected and disappointed. This was to the point that my other friend told me that the dejected friend texted her about suicidal thoughts. How can I help?

A: Maybe this person needs a person to talk to, and the other person just doesn't recognize the sadness she/he is feeling. This person who is having suicide thoughts is NOT OKAY at all. She needs help from a friend, and the friend should NOT change the conversation or make fun of the suffering person.

This is what you should do:

1) Talk in a calm voice

2) Act normal, and don't react to crazy thoughts the person has

3) Don't yell at her/him

4) Try to make that person happy

5) Get help from a teacher if you think this has gone too far

People who are suffering a lot because of rejection must be in a lot of pain. Humans are a social species. Being rejected can cause stress and depression. Let this person know, you will be there for them...

I hope the person you are trying to help feels better about him/her....
