Chapter 15 - Why Don't Horses Sleep Lying Down?
Whisty POV
The day that Jayden and Peyton disappeared was hell-- or at least it was for me.
Everyone seemed to be screaming at each other or nearly in tears, and sometimes, both.
"WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU KEEP A TIME TURNER JUST LAYING AROUND THE HOUSE KNOWING THAT THERE ARE CURIOUS CHILDREN RUNNING AROUND?!" Aunt Torie screetched to Mum who was just sitting in the chair, starring ahead of her (at absolutely nothing I may add) with a completely blank expression.
Minutes later she got up from the chair announced that she was leaving, and, well, left.
"MEGAN! WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!" Aunt Torie yelled angrilly to my mother.
Mum didn't say anything as she walked out the door heading towards who knows where.
I heard a car engine start. "She does know she's a witch right?" I heard Uncle Fred say to no one in particular.
"FRED!" Aunt Torie yelled at him. "This is no time to be joking around! Our daughter is who knows how are in the past and we have no clue if we'll ever even see her again!"
There was a slight pause before my uncle replied to his wife, "Oh." He said it as if it were just sinking in now, which, knowing him, it probably was.
I just stood off to the side of the room awkwardly observing everyone elses reactions.
Uncle George seemed to be reacting the same as his brother as the same things had happened between both of them. But you'd think that Fred would be better off with all of this in the long run as he had a billion other children while George only had one other.
I really couldn't tell how Dad felt about all of this, he's definately mastered the whole "poker face" thing.
I rolled my eyes at the whole fiasco and decided to just go back up to my room. Maybe I should have left the room after announcing that my two bestfriends had gone back in time with a time turner that they found in some closet.
"What's going on?" Scorpius asked me, sticking his head out out of his room.
I explained all of todays recent events to my older brother. In the end, he just shrugged his shoulders as if it were nothing, and returned to his room.
It was a few hours before Mum came home, and when she did everything seemed to be back to normal. It was actually quite odd as you'd think people would be grieving because they had just lost two of their children.
I don't even know at this point. This family is frigged up.
I have a life. All I ever do I sit around and listen to my Mother and Aunt go on about random shit.
All of my friends aren't really my friends. They're just fake idiots who cake on the makeup, have casual sex, and party their lives away.
I don't even understand why they like me so much.
