**(y/n)'s P.O.V.**

I jumped the fence to my special spot. I came here to be alone whenever I got the chance. Nobody came here, and I even took the time to create a sign, which said "Please". The pink structure that could be found in the area was still stable enough for me to make it into a shelter on rainy days. I often found myself spending the night here. Nobody really cared where I was. I never knew my mom or my dad for that matter. All I know is that I'm some freak with a pink jewel on her belly. When I'm at this place is the only time I take off my hoodie, and let my belly show. What can I say? I've always felt a connection to this place.

However, today was different. Tears were pouring down my face and I didn't know why. There was a blue structure in the bushes nearby. It wasn't broken down like the pink one. When I arrived at my special place, I found a giant cloaked being kneeling there. A tinier blue girl was there with her. "Oh, Pink. I'm sorry... I'm so, sorry..." The hooded figure said, faintly, concluding that she was a woman. "I should've done more. Yellow says that it'll all be over soon. I wonder what you would think. This is your planet, after all. I still think it is." I couldn't help but feel sorry for the giant woman. I sighed in melancholy, from behind the bush.

"What are you doing over there?" The giant lady asked. I tensed, as I heard footsteps come near. "I thought I heard someone." My breath hitched. "I think we're not alone." The girl said, quietly. I chanced a look at her. A large pearl was embedded in her blue collar bone. My eyes widened, and I stood up completely. I was just shorter than her by a few inches. "Umm... Hi..." I said, nervously. "Pearl?" The giant woman called. "My diamond, I have found a native." She said, making a formation with her hands, and bowing. "Uhh... Yeah... I'm from earth." I said. "Bring it here." The giant woman replied. The girl guided me out of the bushes, and led me to the giant blue woman.

"How curious? I'm impressed by humanity's ability to survive in the wild. What a strange planet. Where else would a being as fragile as a human live, while a being as mighty as diamond perish? This is where it happened, where she was broken." She said, gesturing to the structure. I looked at it. The mysterious connection that I had with it was growing ever stronger to me. I chanced a look at the giant blue lady's collar bone. A flawless blue diamond rested there. It wasn't cut the same way as my pink one, but it was still beautiful. I absentmindedly held it through the fabric on my hoodie. Why was this giant lady so familiar to me?

"Where you close?" I asked. "Very." She replied. I sighed, letting go of the jewel on my belly. "What was her name?" "Her name was Pink Diamond." I grabbed at the gem again. "Pink Diamond? Did she have a gem like yours?" The lady looked at me, curiously and nodded. "Yes, on her belly. Why do you ask, little one?" I took a deep breath and lifted my hoodie. "Did it look like this?" My gem gleamed in the sunlight. The lady's eyes widened. She extended her hand out to me. I, hesitantly, got on. She raised me to her eye level. "Who are you?" She asked, after gently poking at the gem.

"Umm... My name's (y/n), your highness." I said, bowing to her. She laughed, quietly, as a tear fell down her face. "Oh, little (y/n). You needn't call me that. My name is Blue Diamond. Call me 'Blue', please." I smiled at her, shyly. "Alright, Blue." "Do you remember anything about Pink Diamond, little one?" She asked. "No. But I've always felt a connection to this structure." "It's called a palanquin, little one." Blue Diamond corrected me. "This one belonged to her. This was the place where..." "She died." I finished for her. "Yes." She sighed.

I pat her hand, trying to comfort the mourning diamond. "Hey, it's not your fault, Blue," I said. "Besides, I may not have known her, but I know, somehow, that she wouldn't want you to be so sad." I wiped away one her tears from my face. She looked at me, solemnly. I wiped away her tears as well. "Why do you cover up your diamond, little one?" She asked. "Something as beautiful as your gem should be flaunted." I smiled, sadly. "If only the world could think like a diamond. Sadly, you're the first person to say that to me." I said, taking off my hoodie, completely.

Blue Diamond furrowed her eyebrows. "What do you mean, little one? Does 'the world' not approve of your diamond?" She asked. "I'm afraid not. The human race does not accept what it doesn't understand. I'm a pariah, on my own planet. Nobody cares, in fact, quite the opposite." I said, one of my fists clenching. "But, that's alright. Because there are tiny little sanctuaries like this one. I come here whenever I have the opportunity. The palanquin makes for a good shelter, when it's rainy. I've spent many nights here, because I accidentally fall asleep in her chair on rainy days. It's quiet, and nobody else visits this place. The only time I show my gem, is when I'm here, where nobody else can see."

Blue Diamond rubbed her finger along my back, and it felt very comforting. I smiled a little. "Thanks, Blue." "Of course, little one." She said. "Those humans, they don't deserve to be in the presence of a diamond. Not if this the respect they give her." I puffed up with pride, at her words of affirmation. "Flattery is unnecessary, Blue," I said, smiling. "I'm just a girl with a gem, after all." "No, little one. You are something far more rare and beautiful than that." Blue Diamond said. "But, one must wonder how you are related to Pink Diamond. She was shattered thousands of years ago, and yet here you are: A being with an exact copy of her gem, in the exact same place; yet, you are human in all other aspects."

"Hmm..." I pondered this. ""Well, I do remember a bunch of pink women, when I was a baby. Afterward, I spent a lot of time confined in my gem. There was also a pink bubble around me. I don't know how long I was in that bubble, but it seemed like I was in there for my entire childhood. I looked to be 15 years old when The bubble popped. I was outside the ruins of the palanquin." "That explains why you hold the connection to this place." Blue Diamond contemplated aloud. "Yes, Pink Diamond told me that she had a human mate. She told me that she was carrying a child. It would make sense for her daughter to be found near the ruins of her palanquin." "So, we can agree that is highly probable that Pink Diamond's my mom?"

Blue Diamond smiled. "That theory makes so much sense! It explains the gem!" "And the long life. I can't even remember how old I am." I said. "Who knows what else I inherited from her?" I asked. "Did you inherit her memories?" My face fell. "No, I'm sorry. I inherited her chromosomes, but memories aren't hereditary." Blue Diamond sighed, sadly. "Don't apologize, little one." She said. "I'm just happy to have the closest thing to her." I smiled up at her. "Well, I hope that I can be everything she was to you." "It's a shame. There's a geo-weapon incubating in your planet that will destroy everything shortly. But you don't deserve that, do you?" "Geo-weapon?" I asked. She chuckled a little. "You know, I really shouldn't be here. But I'm glad I came back one last time. I can save one final piece of her legacy."

I tilted my head to the side. "What do you mean?" "I want to take you with me, little one." Blue Diamond said. "You are Pink Diamond's legacy. You deserve to fill her place in the Diamond Authority. You don't deserve to be trapped here with all these humans who are below you, and yet treat you like you are the lesser being. You definitely don't deserve to perish along with them." My eyes widened. "You'll take me away from here?" I asked. "Yes, if that is what you want, little one." Blue Diamond nodded.

Tears of joy filled my eyes. I've never belonged here. I needed something more. "Please," I whispered. We were close enough that she could hear me. "This may have been my mom's colony, but I hate it here. Take me with you." Blue Diamond nodded. "Very well. Let us go now, little one. We still have much to talk about. I'll show you the rest of your mother's legacy. You'll be raised up as she would've wanted you to be. You'll take her place in the Diamond Authority." I nodded and watched as she reached out her hand.

A giant blue arm rose up from the ground. "Woah," I said, not realizing that she was carrying me towards her blue palanquin. Blue Pearl followed us. Blue Diamond sat down on her throne, and reached her hand down to the floor, for Blue Pearl to climb on. The two of us sat her Blue Diamond's lap. I couldn't help but ask, "So, when will I get a palanquin?" Blue Diamond broke out into a joyously amused laughter. It was such a pretty sound. "Patience, little one." Blue Diamond chuckled when she'd composed herself. "In due time, you'll receive all that a diamond deserves."
