Ink and Error despised each other, and were equally matched in strength because of the basic nutrality of the au's at this time. Ink never understood why Error hated him so much, he couldn't remember anything before he was 12, but he was told that Error and him were good friends before that point. Ink sat in an empty void, thinking to himself, trying to remember what happened before everything went so wrong. Ink sat alone for hours, and after a while he realized that he was crying.

Ink stood up, wiped the tears away and teleported back to his own void to watch over the au's, completely alone again. Dream teleported to Ink a few seconds later in a panic. "Ink, where were you??" asked Dream. "I was in one of the voids, why?" "You were crying again.. weren't you?" Ink stopped for a moment and looked at the ground. "Yes, but I didn't mean to." "You know what happens to half of the au's when you cry," Dream responded. "Yes I know, they fall into temporary depression and despair, sorry." Dream gave Ink a bright smile. "You don't need to be sorry, Ink, I was just worried about you is all, now I have to get back to Dreamtale, see ya!" Then Dream teleported away.

Ink was initially shocked at Dreams comment, Ink didn't understand why Dream would be worried about him, it's not the first time Ink has cried over Error, but he decided to ignore it and get back to watching the au's. Nothing was happening, which probably meant that Error was in his void, torturing someone again, not that Ink could do anything, Ink wasnt allowed to enter Error's void, and the opposite goes for Error.

Ink was always told that Error and him worked together and were great friends when they were younger, but Ink doesn't remember anything about his childhood. Anything before Ink was 12 drew a blank in his mind, and it was thanks to Dream's help that Ink could even still protect the au's at all. All Ink felt for Error was deep, burning hatred, Ink will never forget what Error did to him, and refuses to forgive him, it's not like Error wanted forgiveness anyway.

Ink didn't have a soul, and was unable to feel any emotion to an extent. If he wasn't the creator of the au's, he wouldn't be able to feel anything at all, but because of his circumstances he can feel small amounts of love and hate. Dream gives off an aura that opens Ink's emotions more to a normal level. Anyone who is around Dream automatically feels more positive and much more happy, but Ink was warned that if he liked the feeling of Dream's aura too much, he could get addicted, and that could end badly. Dream was told this as well, and because of it, was unable to trust anyone who liked him because he believed that they were just addicted to his aura, which was true. Because of this, he has to separate himself from almost everyone.

If Ink shows any sign of weakness around anyone, everything that he loves could be taken away in an instant, so he acts powerful and shows little to no emotion in public, and is forced to separate himself from everyone, just like Dream. Although Dream is unaware of this, Ink has realized that they act very similarly around meeting new people, but after a little while, they differ astoundingly. It takes a great deal of time before Ink opens up to someone, and while Dream is a bit shy at first, he can quickly open up to anyone.

Ink was very bored once again, and couldn't think of anything to do. He had visited his son, Paperjam, just earlier that day, and didn't want to bother him again. For the first time, Ink also didn't want to draw, so he stood and just watched over the au's, where nothing out of the ordinary was happening.

Out of nowhere, Dream was pushed through a portal into Ink's void, seemingly reluctant, and was a blushing mess. Ink could hear Nightmare, who was Dream's brother, telling Dream to 'say it' before closing the portal and leaving. Ink looked at Dream questioningly, hoping that that was enough to ask for an explanation. Dream took a step forward, and with a stuttery, small voice asked; "Ink? D..do you have a raisin?" This made Ink even more confused and he was about to say something before Dream interupted. "Then how about a date?"

Ink stood there for a second before bursting out in laughter. It was a few seconds before Dream joined him. Once Ink regained his composure, he looked at Dream and asked, "uh.. so.. was that just a joke or were you being serious?" Dream, who was still a blushing mess replied, "hehe, it was a very serious question." Ink, once he finally registered what Dream had said, blushed a bit himself and happily accepted Dream's offer. Dream's eyes turned to stars and he hugged Ink before saying where to meet him and when. After telling Ink, Dream teleported back home.

Ink was left standing there still in shock, and smiled more at the thought of what would happen with the date. He had hours to wait, so he just watched the au's for a little while until it was almost time to start getting ready. Sometimes when nothing was going on, Ink really had nothing to do. Most of the time in this situation Ink would go and kill some of the genociders, the ones that continuously did genocide runs in their au, for no real reason. But there was no genociders right then, so all Ink had to do was think about Dream.

Ink never thought much more of Dream then someone who could help, someone Ink trusted. Ink had very few people like this, there was Dream, and Blue, and that was it. There were other friends that he would talk to, but they weren't.. as close as the others. There are moments where Ink really needs help, and in those moments, he needs someone who he can trust 100%, no doubts, or everything could fall apart.
