(3 cheers for first chapter? Also, no. For all who know my Vampverse versions of my characters, this is not in that universe. I just got lazy on names.)

Tago walked down the narrow path, making sure not to step into the black roses that surrounded the area, he broke into a run, coming to a small clearing, no bigger than a bedroom, and sat down in the center. This was where Tago came to think, normally he would be alone, but the sound his footsteps had made attracted a few animals and someone else. A white-cloaked figure emerged from the trees across from Tago, the figure stopped dead in it's tracks and, Tago slowly got to his feet. As soon as he took a single step, the figure darted away, "Hey! Wait!" Tago yelled, running after it, the figure skillfully dodged the trees of the enchanted forest, Tago, being the clumsy person he was, ran into a few, but soon got the hang of it.

After what seemed like forever, Tago finally caught up to the figure, he grabbed the hood of the figure's cloak and yanked it torward him, the figure let out a startled yelp when they fell to Tago's feet, "Who are you?!" Tago demanded, putting a foot on the figure's back. "Please let me go! I-I have to run! They're after me!" the figure pleaded, pulling the hood off their head, "I-I'm Winter, please, let me go! I have to run." Winter repeated, trying to struggle away from Tago. Tago heard footsteps and picked Winter up, covering his mouth with his hand, "Stay quiet." Tago said, slipping into the shadows. Guards burst through the trees, their heads whipping around wildly, "Where is he?! He couldn't have just disappeared like that!" one of them said, "Well, Obsidian, he does know witchcraft..." another mumbled, "Shut up, Axul. He would've used it when we found him in the castle!" Obsidian hissed, "Come on, we're wasting time." he growled, rushing back the way they came.

Once Tago was sure the guards were gone, he took his hand off of Winter's mouth, walking back out into the dull sunlight that found it's way through the thick branches and leaves of trees. "What did you do that made them chase you?" Tago asked, letting go of Winter and adjusting his own, black cloak. "Well, I stole." Winter replied, flipping his hood back over his head and sitting down in the soft grass. "What did you steal?" Tago asked, settling down in the grass as well. "I stole food. I didn't have enough money to buy what I needed, so I got into a habit of stealing. I guess my white cloak gave me away." Winter said, staring down at the grass, "Ya think? You should get a black one. It helps." Tago said, brushing a leaf off his own cloak. "Do you think that if I can't afford food that I can get a cloak?" Winter said, a twinge of annoyance in his voice. Tago stayed silent and reached over to pick a few nearby flowers, "No, but if you're so good at stealing you could get one for free, dove." he chuckled, fiddling with the flowers.

Winter giggled slightly, "Y'know, I like you! You're sneaky, and funny." he said, Tago felt his face heat up slightly, "Yea, I like you too. You look nice enough, and you seem quite sneaky, yourself." he responded, sliding the hood off Winter's head and placing a crown of black roses on his head. Winter giggled and looked up at the canopy above them, "Thank you." he said, looking back at Tago, "For making me laugh and basically saving me from the guards" Winter said, fiddling around with the grass, "No problem, just helping out." Tago responded, "Helping out a theif." Winter said jokingly, playfully punching Tago in the shoulder, "Hey! I wanna show you something. Come." Winter said excitedly, jumping to his feet and grabbing Tago by the hand. Winter ran off into the trees, pretty much dragging Tago behind him, Tago struggled to keep up with him, but soon ran along side him, hand in hand.

They came to a clearing lined with white, red, and black roses, a crystal clear pond in the center, in the middle of that pond was a large oak tree, a tree house that looked to be built from the branches themselves, as if they had twisted into a house. Tago's mouth was agape as he stared around the clearing, "Wow..." he mumbled, "Hey, you know witchcraft?" Winter asked, still running with Tago torward the pond, "Yea..." he responded, Winter let go of Tago's hand and jumped into the pond, "What are you-" Tago began, but what he witnessed silenced him. Winter had made an elegant bridge from the water, standing on it, it looked like he was standing on air apart from the blue tint of the water and the pebbles that had been in the spot Winter had landed in, "Well? Come on!" he said, holding out his hand. Tago took Winter's hand, Winter dashed across the bridge, while they ran, the bridge fell apart behind them, becoming it's shapeless form once again and crashing down into the pond below.

Tago looked behind him and saw this happening, he ran beside Winter, the hoods of both of their cloaks waving about in the wind, they reached the tree house  and the last of the bridge fell into the pond. The tree house was much bigger up close than Tago thought, Winter pushed aside the leaf curtains that acted as a door, "Well? Come in! It's gonna rain soon." he said, disappearing into the house. Tago looked at the sky, grey clouds laced it. He walked into the house and stared around, "This place looks nice." Tago said, Winter sat down near a fire and pat the spot next to him. (It's winter, in their universe) Tago sat down next to Winter just as it started to drizzle, the drizzling soon turned into pouring and the two skeletons could hear it coming down through the leaves of the tree onto the 'roof' of the house.

"Could you show me what you can do? With your witchcraft, I mean." Winter asked, turning his head to look at Tago, Tago hesitated, "Sure. What do you want me to work with?" he asked readying his magic, "Try something simple, how about levititating something?" Winter suggested, Tago smirked mischievously, surrounded Winter in a light red aura, and lifted him up. Winter let you a soft yelp, "W-Wait! I said something not someone!" he said, Tago chuckled and put Winter down, 'He's too cute...Wait, I just met him today, I can't possibly think like this!' Tago thought, staring back into the flames of the fireplace.
