"Well, this cannot be happening!" I literally screamed at Lizzie. "You better believe it sweetie", she said meekly. How can this be possible? I was mentally debating at this point. How can The Leyland Industries take over my father's legacy? I spent my blood, sweat and tears to transform this company from a bankrupt liability to a credible institution. I had a million plans for this place. I cannot let three years of my relentless efforts go down in flames in a second. Not so quickly! Parker Enterprises is not going to fade away just because of some male chauvinistic pig's unreasonable acts.

"What is the acquisition clause Lizzie?" I asked my elder sister."The Leyland Industries has made it clear to the management board of our company that they can run the whole thing better than you..." Better than me? Who are these people? Just because I am a woman in this male dominated corporate world that does not mean I cannot run my father's company. "... and with only 40 % of the total market shares with us, we technically don't have majority to challenge the deal " Lizzie reasoned.

I still vividly remember the day when dad lost his share majority in Parker Enterprises. With the company at the brink of fading into oblivion with no credibility or profit margins, he had no other choice but to give up 60% of his ownership rights and market shares to multiple business moguls to save his company from being shut down forever." I am doing this for our family Amy" dad told me that night with a glimmer of hope in his eyes amidst the sheer remorse in his heart" and for countless other families who make a living out of our company." I knew dad would never let the employees of our company suffer, let alone their families and for them he was willing to give up his dream.....his company.

That was the day when I made a promise to myself and my father that I will revive my father's legacy no matter what it takes. And now, eight years later, I was finally bringing my father's dream back to life. Had it not been for this ridiculous new development, Parker Enterprises would have topped the market profit charts by this year end.

"The deal closure meeting is this Saturday sweetie" Lizzie informed me, bringing me out of my thoughts. I had to do something pronto! I rang up my secretary, "Stella, fix up a meeting with the CEO of Leyland Industries please" I had to meet that arrogant chauvinistic son of a pig who thinks that women are gullible creatures incapable of running a business on their own. "What should I tell him about the purpose of the meeting madam?" Stella asked."Tell him that Parker Enterprises is ready to merge into Leyland Industries".

"What are you doing, Amelia?" Lizzie asked me before I could end the call." We still have the single largest share in the company, that gives us fighting chance to get dad's company back and you are willing to give it all up!" she was yelling on the top of her lungs by now." Elizabeth! You need to calm down and listen to me." I cannot bear to see my sister all angry and fuming at me, she is a very sweet person to be acting this way. But again, circumstances do change people and my sister is in no manner immune to that.

"Lizzie, I have a plan. Just trust me on this okay! You know that I will never let anything happen to our company. Plus, I have to meet that man who thinks he can ruin my father's lifetime efforts in a day" Though visibly shaken by all that yelling, my sister was finally calming down.

I heard my cell phone ring just then." Yes Stella, tell me". "Madam, Mr. Richard has agreed to meet you in his office at 11 this morning" Just the words I wanted to hear right now. The sooner I get to meet that son of the devil, the better. "Thank you Stella", I disconnected the call. I had to leave immediately for office to make it in time for the meeting."Bye Lizzie, I have to go." I said as I gave her a tight hug before leaving.

"Hey kiddo" I heard Lizzie calling me from behind as I was about to leave. I turned back to face her."Don't break his nose" she grinned." I'll try" I said and with that I left my home to meet the man whose nose I had to spare.
