yoongi pov
I was only 6 years old when I fell for her.
"Eommaaa..." I groaned. My mother had dragged me to a talent show.
The lights were dim and rows of red velvet seats sat at the feet of the vast stage. We had to attend the show because of my cousin.
Excited chirping and chatter buzzed through the audience; most of the audience consisted of parents proudly boasting about their child.
I looked up at my mother. She seemed to be excited to see Jo Huk, my eight year old cousin play.
He was two years older than me and was already a prodigy at the violin. My aunts, uncles, grandparents and other relative praised him lots.
"Jo Huk ahh, how are you so talented?"
"Jo Huk, I am so proud of you."
"Amazing, Jo Huk! Wonderful playing."
Jo Huk this Jo Huk that; I wanted them to shut up already.
The sounds of violins made me so annoyed - they always reminded me of my supposedly god-given talented cousin who outshined me.
I always felt harsh judgemental eyes staring down at me when Jo Huk was praised. We were the youngest of the family, so we were always compared.
I overheard my relatives chatting about me behind my back once.
"Aish that Min Yoongi. Jo Huk is already an expert in violin and what is he doing? Colouring in colouring books? What nonsense! He should learn an instrument already!"
This is why I despised music. Especially classical music. The sound of it washed out in my brain whenever I listened to it. It was a blurry mess.
Suddenly, I snapped back to reality. The noisy claps of the audience clamoured over my ears. Someone's performance had just finished. I rolled my eyes, hoping all of them would be done and over with.
"Eomma, how many more minutes till it ends?" I groaned to my mother, then she shot a death glare at me. I sighed lazily and looked back at the stage.
I could literally fall asleep right now.
The host blasted his voice into the microphone.
"And now, Jee Chae Lu will be performing Lost into the Night on the piano!" The audience clapped, and I sighed.
Another classical performance. Great.
A little girl with a white silk dress and wavy black hair walked in from the side, holding music sheets and bowed. Then she sat at the piano.
Unlike the other performers, she had a vivid stage presence.
I didn't see the red curtains. Not the people in front of me. Not even the stage. Only her.
I looked at her closely.
She had big eyes with long eyelashes, a small nose and small doll-like lips. Her lips then spread into a big smile, revealing white bunny like teeth.
Her fingers slammed into the piano, and twiddled quickly, from the black keys to the white keys.
As each finger pressed down on a key beautiful strings of sound enhanced everyone's ears.
I was so absorbed by the energy she put into the piano: she was one with it.
Her black shiny hair swayed as she emphasised her arms with the music and her eyes shut close, eyelashes curled up. Lips turned up and foot stepping on the piano's break; she looked like an angel.
My mother turned to me, realising I was staring at her and smirked. "She's quite the beauty, isn't she?" she whispered and I went red.
"Eomma!" I hushed her.
My heart pounded so loud. My eyes emerged into the performance and my breath held on to every action she did.
The melody was then put to a stop. I snapped out of my focus (once again) and she stood up and bowed.
"Kamsamida."
The audience clapped loudly, and cheered.
The rest of the performances went by quick. I needed to see her again. I couldn't just go home like that.
"Ah, Yoongi-" my mother called.
I ran to the foyer of the venue, scanning the crowd. So many adults were walking out of the exit so all I saw were long legs. It was like walking through a forest with tall trees.
Then I saw her.
Small and petite, running out to the road.
"Jakkuman!!" I shouted, following her.
The crossing light was red. She looked both ways of the road and dashed into the street.
What was this stupid idiot doing?
A bus was rolling in as she ran into the middle of the road, and I froze for a second.
Then I dashed and jumped, pushing her forward, my chest lunging at her.
BEEEEEEEEEEEP-
The loud honk of the bus startled the cars and the the other pedestrians.
The bus pulled to the right, then the driver who cussed at us slammed his hand on the wheel. "Stupid kids!" he yelled.
Breathing heavily, I looked down at her. I couldn't believe it. I was face to face with her, and I could see her large sparkling eyes.
She looked shocked. Her eyes were widened and her mouth was gaped. She gazed back up at me.
We were staring at each other. My heart was pumping so hard, and I had a feeling like I wanted to throw up.
Her eyes moved to where the bus was, where the driver was walking towards us.
I realised the awkward position we were in. Wasn't this like those kissey yucky scenes in those movies?!
More and more people were coming towards us.
"Are you two alright?"
"Is anyone hurt??"
"Someone, call an ambulance!"
Embarrassed, I stood up and began to run off.
But I couldn't run. The girl was gripping tightly into my hand.
"WAIT!!! What's your name?!" she asked.
I looked at her once last time, her eyes peering up at me.
I smiled before I yanked it off. "Seo Ah."
Then I turned and ran.
