Connor x reader "The Quest" (part 1)

After dinner, Chiron said, "Campers, we are going to have a campfire in a few minutes, please everyone join us," some kids cheered others just nodded. Connor made his way towards you "Hey (Y/N)! Let's go to the campfire" "Okey" you replied "Just let me grab my guitar" you ran to the Apollo Cabin and Connor followed you, both of you enter the cabin and you started searching for the guitar while Connor just watched what you do and explored a little the cabin. "Where are your siblings?" He asked "Probably already at the campfire" you continued searching, finally, a realization came to you "Ooh, I'm so stupid, obviously Austin (he is your brother) has the guitar, today is his turn" "Don't each of you have like their own guitar?" Connor asked you with a confuse look "Mostly all our instruments are for the cabin, I mean like for sharing. The only instrument that I totally own is the ukelele Apollo gave me" "The magic one?" "Yep," Apollo have given you a ukulele that can transform into your bow and arrows or a little charm that you mostly place around your neck, it comes really handy sometimes. So, you just take the charm, press the small bottom, and violá ukulele at your service. "Okey, now let's go," Connor said as he placed his arm on your shoulders and walked outside the cabin. "Don't think I have forgiven you," you said, "Forgive me for what?" "For reading my poems you stupid!" you playfully hit his chest. "Oh that well, you can't blame me they are so good," you just rolled your eyes and continue walking towards the campfire.

During the campfire, you sang, laughed, and simply be with your friends and had fun. Everything was going well until a camper that you didn't recognize, maybe a son if Iris, arrived saying something about the oracle giving a prophecy, (A/N: I know that during and after Blood of Olympus the oracle isn't working, well let's just imagine it does ;) and yes indeed, Rachel was making her way towards all of you, green fumes around her. The kid helped her walk before she collapsed just in front of Connor, Travis, Katie and you. And then she said in a strange voice, her eyes glowing green:

"Four half-bloods
kids of three different gods
must find those lost
and defeat the unknown.
And on the land of the moon,
they will be divided by two
but they must not retreat
if they want to find peace"

Rachel finished the prophecy and returned to her normal self. "Um, what happened?" she asked confuse, everyone just looked at her the same way. After a few seconds, Chiron made his way to the front "You just gave a prophecy dear, nothing to worry about" "Okey, what was the prophecy about?" Chiron seemed to think for a moment "I'm not completely sure. Maybe -" he was interrupted by a flash of light, then a man you recognized as Hermes was standing in front of him. "Good evening Chiron, and campers" everyone just looked at him more confuse than before. "I came here because, as you may have noticed, we need a quest" Finally Travis got out of his sock "A quest for what?" Hermes looked at him "Well I can't tell you all the details, but it is mainly to destroy the remaining army Gaea had created that is still out there" Then Connor asked him "But where? Who need to go, the prophecy said something about four demigods, right?" he looked at you at the last question, you just raised your elbows making it clear that you are probably more confused than him.  Hermes answered him: "The only information that I'm allowed to say is that one of the four demigods must be a child of Apollo. Now I must leave, goodbye campers." then he disappeared in another flash of light. 'Oh gods no, an Apollo kid?' you thought "Well campers, you had heard him, which Apollo camper volunteers?" All your sibling just looked at each other obviously shocked, Chiron saw this and said "Well I personally recommend Kayla or (Y/N) for this quest" You made eye contact with your sister at the other side of the campfire, you seem to had a silent conversation and end up in the same conclusion, Kayla wasn't going, she was younger than you and with less experience. You sight raised your hand and said "I volunteer" Connor looked at you, took you hand and then raised his "If (Y/N) is going then I'm going too" "Okey then," Chiron said, "Which other two demigods volunteer?" Travis raised his hand, "I wanna join the party" then Katie looked at all of us and raised her hand too "And I can't let my friends alone" "Okey, I think this is a good group" Chiron replied "Please prepare all your things and rest well, meet me at the big house tomorrow at sunrise to make a plan. Now everyone please go to your cabins, good night." Everyone stood up and started leaving "Well see you tomorrow guys," Travis said, he and Katie left. You and Connor remain there, he was still holding your hand. When you were finally alone you told him "Connor, you don't have to do this." "Are you kidding me, I'm not leaving you alone." You smiled at his words, and really hoped he can't see your blush, then he pulled you closer and you rested your head on his shoulder. 'What did I do to deserve such a good friend?' you thought. After a few minutes of comfortable silence, he said "Well I think it's getting late, good night (Y/N)" "Good night" You left to your cabin, trying not to think about the difficult task ahead of you, nor of the guy you were going with who was also your best friend, and probably your crush. It was going to be a long trip....
