a disturbed agnostic
tempted by the fates
never acquires the satisfaction in living
without faith in the heavens
that which
tauntingly remains out of her reach,
just outside her pensive gaze -
relishing in her wonder and wistful skepticism
while whatever 'God'
sneers down at her sad contempt shrieking:
'what an unfortunate creature!'
