Chapter 1

12 Holbrook Avenue. 9 pm.
That's what the text read.
No name. No number. Just the word blocked.
Is it starting up again? Or has it not finished?

I moved here about a week ago. I drove 2000 miles to get away from what happened. And yet here is another text. Why? Was it because I saw that murder?

I pull my sweatshirt over my head. It's a black sweatshirt with no writing on it. I want to blend in with the dark. I looked myself over in the mirror. I look exhausted. My piercing blue eyes show a lot of fear. But I have to figure this out. I look out my bedroom window to make sure nobody was lurking for me in the dark. The coast is clear. I take my car keys from my desk, grab my bag and head down the stairs. I punch in the security code to my house. It feels great taking control of my life. I open my front door and lock it behind me. I turn around and look around. No lights. No people and I don't see anyone. I unlock my car door and I look around one more time. Nobody.
I sit down in my 2016 Corolla. I can still smell that new car smell. I check the inside of my car and see no one. Good. I lock my car door to make sure I felt safe. I turn my key in the ignition. 'Vrrrooooommm'. My car sounds to life. I turn on my GPS and plug in 12 Holbrook Avenue. 10 minutes away. Great. I look at the clock and it read 8:34pm. Maybe I can get there early and get some clues. I want to know what this freak wants with me. But I don't feel like playing this game anymore.

I take a left onto my street. It's a long road with a lot of lights. Neighbors like to keep to themselves so I don't really know anybody.
"Turn right in 0.2 miles."
I drove down that road once. It was a dead end. Why is the GPS bringing me here? I follow the GPS. I take a right.
"Drive 5.4 miles."
The road ends in a half a mile. I know that for a fact. I drove the half a mile and see a dead end sign. That's a bust. I sit there for a minute. I look around. It's just woods. I look closely at the ground. I see a dirt road. I start driving. So that's what the GPS was telling me. I follow this dirt road. It's a twisty road and a narrow road. 8 minutes later the GPS says "You have arrived at your destination."

"What destination?" "I don't see anything!!!!"
I get out of my car and lock my car doors. I put my keys in my bag and take my flashlight out. I turn it on. I look around and see nothing. I get a another text.

Start walking.
