He awoke near the exit. Why he was near the exit he will never know.
He felt dizzy as he stood up. Did he stand? Well he suddenly grew taller when he tried to sit up. So this was weird. He had to hold onto the wall to steady himself. He nearly tore a weird poster off of the wall as he did this. He looked up and his eyes took a moment to focus on it.
"The Dancing Demon..." he murmured, getting startled by his own voice. Was it his own voice? Well there was no one else around, so it must have been...
He slowly and steadily made his way down the hall, eventually getting to a big room with a projector, some reels on the right wall, and some weird character at the projector. He released his hand from the wall and slowly and carefully made his way over to it. The floor boards creaked slowly as he walked.
When he arrived at the cardboard cut out, he squinted his eyes to focus in on it.
It was some form of demon... Or so that's what he thought. He was smiling like some sort of human laughing at a funny joke.
Wait...
What's a human?
Oh well. He'll find that out later. But somehow it was in his mind. A fuzzy memory was there, and as he walked around it started to recollect itself. But only bits and pieces were there. Like an incomplete puzzle.
Back to the cardboard cut out, he was all black and white, as if it were from the old days. The old days? Okay he mustn't get sidetracked this time. Black horns, shiny black shoes, white bow tie, white face. Kind of like Mickey Mouse. Wait, who's- Stop getting sidetracked!
Blot.
What?
That was a random thought...
But somehow he knew it was important...
Like it was his name or something...
Maybe it was? He guessed he would soon find out.
He explored some more, going into some rooms, trying door handles with no success, trying to turn the projector on to show some sort of image, finding something labelled INK MACHINE, some words scrawled across the wooden walls. A lot of ink. A lot of Devil cut outs.
He came across something horrific, though.
Some sort of character like him... But his ribs were ripped open and he was pinned to a table-
The table...
HE HAS TO GET AWAY FROM THERE...
He didn't know why but he knew he had to leave. He looked around, finding nothing but a book and some words on the wall, grabbed the book and left the room in quite a hurry. He did NOT want to go back in there for some reason. Maybe it's because there was a fucking dead corpse there, but that's no biggy, right? Pfft.
He kept walking around to find ANYTHING. All he found was a room with pillars, some ink, a toy version of the demon (This one had a cute little tail!!), a cog wheel, a music disk and a wrench. For some reason every time he grabbed them they disappeared. So when he was done he went to another room that he liked to call 'the Flow Room'. He pressed the button called Flow and went back to the room with the lever. He flicked it down.
It became darker. With his short sightedness, this was not good. He felt along until he made his way to more light.
It was silent. Nothing had happened except for the lights turning off. Some lights were still on. He kept walking along, squinting around.
Guess he should go back to the Ink Machine. See if that's turned on.
He headed back to the Ink Machine. It was humming softly. It seemed as if it were turned on. He approached it.
Suddenly, something his him over the back of his head. He fell to the floor with a thump. The last thing he saw was a masked man.
"Sleep sleep, little sheep...
In the morning you may wake
Or in the morning, you'll be dead"
Was the last thing he heard.
