Hey guys....

So today I took the goslings outside and also let the chickens out... we now have the chicks in the coop too, and I let them out to roam around. They went over to a nearby spot in the shade under a small tree surrounded by some logs and old bricks. I stayed near the house with the goslings, when I....

I heard frantic chirping and looked up to where the chicks were and ran up to see a flash red fur....

You probably guessed what it was, and with it went black and white feathers....

I yelled at it but it just turned to look at me and took off through the neighbor's field (they have a wire fence that you can't climb through so I couldn't chase it)

It took Haliwir (one of our young roosters) and Mouth, but dropped Mouth on the way in the neighbors' field and I watched her slowly die from a broken neck. Five of the chicks had run into the coop, while these others into the barn. So now we have only 15 chicks and 5 hens.

At least when the geese are older, they'll be able to chase the fox away :,,) (if you haven't been chased by a goose before, it's pretty scary). I still hate that I let the chicks out unattended, and that Mouth had to die that way. 😔 That's it for now... -Raptor
