Brother Zachariah, one of the silent brothers of the City of Bone, was sitting on the steps leading down into the City of Bones. He seemed to be sulking with his elbows on his knees and his chin resting on his fists.
Tessa, Theresa Grey who was half warlock and shadowhunter, came down the steps to sit down beside him and wrapped an arm around his shoulders to comfort him even though she didn't know what was wrong.
He sniffled. "Jace threw my cat." It sounded so pathetic to her ears, but he really loved that cat. So Tessa resisted the urge to laugh at the sight of Zachariah.
"There, there." She cooed and patted his shoulder.
"Church. He threw him, Tessa." He shook his head in sadness.
