Chapter 48: Sendai

Team Japan was able to push through and win the World Team Trophy. Yuzuru managed to rise into first and still break 300 points after his free skate despite two popped jumps. It was something like a miracle. Now, Yuzuru is taking a bit of a break and heading to Sendai for a week and I'm coming along with him. I get to meet his whole family. His mother is already there. His father is picking us up along with his mother and sister. I'm almost scared to meet them as they could not like me. His mother likes me and that's good but you never know about the rest of his family.

We get off the plane in the Sendai Airport. Yuzuru bought me a face mask to wear while we're in Japan as to not draw attention to ourselves since Yuzuru is practically a celebrity here. He could get mobbed at any time. Security makes sure we get to Yuzuru's father's car without the media mobbing us. Once in the car I notice everyone who is there. I'm in between Yuzuru and his sister, Saya, while his parents are seated in front.

"Hello! It's so great to finally meet you!" Saya exclaims happily as she bows to me.

I bow back happy to hear her enthusiasm. "It's great to finally meet you as well, Saya-san," I reply back. "Yuzuru talks about you frequently."

"Please, just call me Saya-nee. I'm so happy my little brother found a girlfriend. I used to joke that he would forever be married to the ice, but now he might actually marry a person!"

"Onee-chan! Don't say that to Mai. She didn't need to hear that. You're going to embarrass me," Yuzuru almost whines, but chides her as well.

"It's fine, little brother. I'm sure you've already embarrassed yourself enough in front of this poor girl and she's still dating you up until this point. I'm not going to do any more harm than you have already done."

"Nee-chan! Please stop!"

"If you two don't stop bickering in front of our guest, I will boot you two out of my car," Yuzuru's father jokes in an almost serious manner.

Yuzuru and Saya sit back in their seats grumbling to themselves. I giggle as the two siblings are really acting like siblings. I know Yuzuru really looks up to his sister and they really care for each other. I hold onto Yuzuru's hand as he has a bit of a pout on his face. It goes away when Yuzuru sees the smile on my face.

"Mother, what is for dinner tonight?" Yuzuru ask excitedly.

"Well, I made special dishes for Mai-san," Yuzuru's mother answers. "I made a hot pot, omurice, tempura, gyoza, and a beef and vegetable stew."

"I am very excited to have dinner with all of you," I speak in a very formal tone.

"We are happy to have you here with us, Mai," Yuzuru's mother says to me. "It's been a while since you have come over to our apartment back in Canada so it's nice that you are here with us in Sendai before we go back to Canada."

"I am very thankful for you allowing me into your home. I know how happy Yuzuru was to hear he could spend sometime here after the World Team Trophy as the season has come to a close."

"We are happy to welcome to you into our home. You are a very special guest."

With that, we all quiet down and enjoy the ride to the Hanyu household. It doesn't take very long, but we all make it in one piece. We all step out of the car and Yuzuru grabs mother of our luggages even though I know I can carry my own. Before entering the house, I take off my shoes and set them to the side with everyone else's shoes. Yuzuru's father sees this and nods his head approvingly.

"Sorry for the intrusion," I say out of respect for the household.

"Oh, dear, you can borrow these slippers while you're here," Yuzuru's mother says gesturing to an extra pair of slippers by the door.

"Thank you," I reply back bowing slightly to her. "I can use these until I take my own pair out of my luggage."

"You have brought your own house slippers?"

"Yes, in Filipino culture, we also wear slippers around the household. We also take our shoes off when entering the home."

Yuzuru's mother nods impressed. "Well, feel free to use these until then. Yuzuru, please show Mai to the private room. And you are not allowed to go in there without the door opened."

Yuzuru nods his head and takes both of our luggages upstairs. I try to take them from him, but he doesn't allow me. Upstairs, he shows me the guest room, which just happens to be right next to his room. He shows me where the bathroom is as well. In my room I plop down in the bed. Yuzuru plops down next to me. Then he takes my face and kisses my lips. I kiss back loving the feeling of his lips on mine. Yuzuru moves his hand to the back of my neck and adds more pressure to our kiss. Then we fall back into the bed still kissing. I start running my hands through Yuzuru's hair as Yuzuru's hand moves to hold my waist and pull me closer to his body. We are really getting good at this whole kissing thing, despite neither of us being in relationships before this one. Yuzuru pulls away from the kiss first and smiles at me. I smile back.

"I really needed that," Yuzuru murmurs, pushing back his hair from his face.

"And why did you really need that?" I tease him, rubbing the side of his face.

"Because I need a daily dose of my girlfriend without being interrupted."

"Well, I hope you really enjoyed that. Because that's the only kiss you'll be getting while we're here."

"Eh?! Why is that?"

"Because I'm not going to make out with you while we're in your childhood home. Now, can you show me your room?"

"Mai!"

I love teasing my whinny little Pooh boy.
