twenty • stop time

her hate for him was still there, after what he did in the party, that was unforgivable. maybe. sorta?

"look, i just want to apologize for what happened in the party. it was my fault."

she looked at him for awhile, but she forgave him. she believed it was really an accident.

"yeah, anyways, i'm gonna see you later in class. bye!"

she walked as far as she could from chase, and went to gerard's locker.

"hey gerard, has chase came to you, to apologize?"

"uhh, yeah, he did. he texted me earlier."

"oh, okay."

he laced his hand with her hand, and together they walked to class. their rooms were only beside each other, so gerard could wait for danielle.

the day passed like there was nothing to do that day, except, the announcement of the new basketball season.

ah, right. the new basketball season.

there were six schools competing, one, being their school, Carson High.

their biggest rival, NorthernWood High, would come to their school and play against other teams.

now, gerard and chase and all the other seniors aim to get back the crown, after losing it last season.

the coach said that basketball practice will start tomorrow, to prepare themselves for their first game. which is in two weeks, january twenty six.

as the both of them walked home, they were silent all the way. neither the both of them engaged in a conversation, one thing was, this wasn't something that ever happened before.

before they knew it, they reached danielle's house.

danielle was about to enter her house when gerard stopped her.

"hey, um babe?"
he spoke up before danielle entering.

"yeah?"

"uh, come here."

danielle walked to him, and stopped in front of him. her eyebrows raised, as if confused to what gerard was doing.

"what's wrong?"

her question was answered by a wrapping of arms around her body, and a face being buried to her neck.

"nothing. i just wanted to hug you."

danielle hugged him back, and she felt comfortable hugging him.

"this is unexpected. you coming around and hugging me."

"why? can't your boyfriend just hug his girlfriend anywhere?"
still hugging her, with a questioning look on his face.

"ofcourse you can! i mean, i haven't felt this feeling in like, years?"

"hmph, you and chase, huh? well, i'm glad to bring back the feeling."

this moment ended, and danielle pushed him away lightly.

"yeah, i have to go. homework!"

"oh come on! can't it wait until later?"
he said with a pouting face and voice.

"shut up. love ya!"
she shouted and went inside her house.

gerard smiled and walked away, still smiling at the moment awhile ago.
