I gathered my stuff as I heard the elevator "bing". I was met by a number of girls walking in the hallway, all dressed up and some are lugging suitcases and bags, in search of there room, freshmen I presume.
Beaming to them as I pass, greeting to some familiar acquitances until I got to the door of my room 101. Swiping the card key, I recieve a surprising tight embrace from Joana as soon as the door opened.
"We just saw each other last night Jo", I reminded her, hugging her back.
A giggle escaped from her, "I know, but it felt like forever and your late!", she rebuked, playfully slapping my shoulder as we broke from our hug.
"Sorry, I just forgot to pack last night", I reasoned, giving her an apologetic smile.
She smirked, "I knew it, I told you last night to get ready. So forgetful, so you Lina", she stated, shooking and poked a finger to my forehead, my head leaned back as she did.
I chuckled, shooking my shoulders with her geste. "Aren't you gonna invite me in? My shoulder's are killing me Jo, the backpack is too heavy", I bleated, shaking my shoulders making the backpack rock.
"Oh! I'm sorry, let me help you", she insisted and invited me in, helping me with my baggage. Setting it all beside my bed which is a few meter away from Joana's.
The room still looks the same, our pictures still hanged on the white walls, our flatscreen TV that we bought from the money we both saved last year is still attached by the wall. The red couch, wardrobe, study desk, our mini kitchen and my bed, pink pillows and pink silky sheets. I smiled as all the memories reminiscing through my psyche.
I jumped on my bed, feeling myself sink in to the soft cushion, the ray of light from the window hitting my face. I closed my eyes, letting a soft sigh escape my lips. A bit exhausted from all the rush in packing my stuff, the little quarrel I had with mom, the lack of sleep and the dream I had last night.
The handsome stranger from the carnival.
Recalling the dream, he was standing by the front school gate, wearing the same hooddie he wore last night, he smugly smiled at me as he caught my presence and he slowly removed the hood from his head and there revealed a golden crown, sitting above his blonde locks, making him look like a prince. A charming prince.
Prince.
My thoughts were interposed when I heard loud squelling and cheering from the school courtyard, my ears ringing from they're irritating screech. I groaned in annoyance and covered my ears with my hands, trying to suppress on hearing the torturing noise.
I sensed footsteps coming close, I opened my eyes to see Joana heading to where I'm at, my eyes followed her move as she turned to peek through the window close to my bed. She gestured her hand to me to come close.
A nosy person as myself, I oblige, wanting to know what's out there. Sluggishly got up from the bed and peeked through the window. Squinting my eyes to detect a group of girls going all crazy, tailing over a blonde guy in a dark blue suit and sun glasses, walking his way to the main building with such confidence seemingly not minding the attention his receiving.
My attention diverted upon hearing the voice of Mrs. Chaplin (school registrar) through the speaker of our room attached above the door. Formally stating a notification.
"Requiring upon the attention of Selina Jones, you are requested to report to the office of the school secretary immediately, thank you"
My face turned into a frown at the sound of it. What now mom? I mentaly questioned in complain. The school secretary is no other than my mother. She keeps on calling me everytime she needs something or any assistance.
