Okay, I know you've heard it all before but the first and most important thing when writing is to write something you are in love with. If it's anything else, you just won't have the motivation to write.

2. Plan the story and make a messy unorganized mess! Everything doesn't have to be drawn out perfectly the first time! Any details, events and plot can be scribbled on paper to where you can add to it and tweak it as many times as you want. Try writing on actual paper if you're having difficulty, sometimes writing digitally can cause us to become a bit detached from our word child.

3. Write out plenty of chapters before publishing. I know writers who have written out the whole story before publishing. This way, the story is done, updates will be easier, editing will be easier, writing will be more fun! It's so much easier that way because when you don't feel like writing, or if you have writers block you don't have to feel guilty or explain to your readers that hey this chapter sucks because I wasn't feeling it. Which Brings me to my next tip.

4. Write when you don't feel like it, but don't publish. Don't do your story wrong by writing that one part you just didn't feel for. Writing when not up to it is a good exercise, but don't just half ass and publish, you'll end up being very upset with yourself. Instead write, and then read over it, mull over it and tweak it using tip #1.
