there were three things i never told you,
three things i couldn't face.
if i had just found a way...
for i'll always regret the things I didn't say.
the first one was about you,
and the way everyone seemed to smile,
when you were dancing around,
in life's long miles.
you never seemed to notice,
how bright was the light in your eyes,
and how it illuminated others lives,
for the darkness around was too strong to hide.
still even though you were as bright as day,
sometimes you seemed to fade,
and if you had known the happiness you caused,
you would have never lost your way.
i also regret not telling you, that your dreams were true,
that they were big and filled with the colors of the moon.
but you thought they were unrealistic and too far to reach,
you left them, for the world didn't believe children could dream.
if only i had told you what you needed to hear,
maybe you would have kept your hopes and dreams.
maybe you wouldn't have turned into a ghost,
that appeared to me when i needed it most.
the last thing i didn't say,
is the one i regret the most every day.
for i'll never see you again,
for the fear of telling you the truth full of pain.
i loved you, with all my soul.
i loved your sad eyes and aching heart,
but you thought you were alone.
you thought no one loved you anymore.
there were three things i never told you,
three things i couldn't face,
but if you had known that you were a star,
that your dreams were bright,
and that you weren't alone.
maybe I wouldn't have lost you to the shadows of this world.
