Chapter 17: I Just Couldn't Help It

Start from the beginning

“You’re a little lying bitch, you think everyone loves you and all because you’re the “Sweetheart” when in reality, no one actually-

“Just leave us alone,” Dylan sighed, cutting her off. He shooed her away, rolling his eyes.

“You’ll regret choosing a bitch like her. When you get tired of her, you know where I am,” She smirked evilly, winking and turned around, humming a small tune to herself.

“I hate her,” I mumbled angrily, closing my eyes for a long second.

“Well first, I am very proud of you,” He smirked, running his hand through my hair. I sighed into his touch which was slowly calming me down.

“Why?” I giggled, opening my eyes and losing myself in his eyes.

“Because you stood up for yourself,” He muttered, twirling the end of my hair in his fingers. “You’ve never done that,” He concluded.

“I know, someone here annoyed me to the extent where I had to stick up for myself,” I answered, smiling slightly, remembering all the times I stood up to Dylan from throwing food at him to punching him in his face… If you think about it, I’ve come a long way from when I used to just let people walk all over me. If someone would have told me that I would actually have the confidence to stand up for myself, I would have gladly slapped them and yelled ‘Get it together man!’ in their face and walked away. Simple as that.

“Ahh, does this person happen to have you in their arms right now,” He whispered, pulling me closer to him by the back of my head.

“Yup,” I popped the ‘P’ and didn’t wait to close the distance between us. This was the most needy that we have ever been, his hands running all over my back and waist. I tangled my hands into his hair, pulling him closer to me and deepening the kiss. He licked my lower lip, asking for entrance and when I denied him, he gripped my waist tighter, causing me to gasp. He took that as an entry way to push his tongue into my mouth and we fought for dominance, him winning in the end. He pushed me against the wall and explored my mouth with his tongue. I couldn’t help the moan that sounded out of my mouth. I felt him smile against my lips to which I returned and he pulled away, leaning his forehead against mine.

Our breaths were mangled together as he grinned genuinely at me. It was at that moment that I realized I didn’t want to be anywhere else except for in his arms, I didn’t want anyone else except for him, and I certainly didn’t want to be away from him again.

Could I… Was I actually falling in lo-

“Nina and Dylan! Get your asses in here right now! They’re calling the winner,” Amber interrupted, putting her hand on her hip, and giving us a meaningful stare showing us she caught our heated make out session. All my previous thoughts were pushed to the back of my mind as I grabbed Dylan’s hand and pulled him into the main room.

Dylan leaned into my ear as I pulled him,  "I couldn't ever get tired of you Nina..." I bit my lower lip and tried to contain my smile but I couldn't. As I turned away from Dylan, I caught Ronnie glaring at us and if looks could kill, well.. at least I would be dead with Dylan. I smiled at her and shrugged falling into line with all the other girls and listened impatiently to the announcer.

“So as you all know, this night has to come to an end. But! We need to announce the new Miss Alpine, and it’s only fair for the current Miss Alpine to do the honors. So, please welcome Vanessa Mason!” Everyone clapped as the beautiful Vanessa Mason walked onto the stage. She had on a plain black dress that fit perfectly on her tan body, it showed off her curves in all the right places and she accented it with a few jewelry pieces. Her brown wavy hair flipped against her back as she walked onto the stage.
