Beth's POV.
I have been in this hell hole since before I could speak. When I was told my dad was working on getting full custody of me, I was happy, but nervous.
My mom had left a letter for me to read about my father, I never read it until now.
Dear Elizabeth Grace,
I am sorry that I left you, but I was in a bad spot when I met your father. He was a great man, but he had his flaws. His girlfriend had just left him for a man she barely knows, so he was looking for a fix. We met at a bar.
He was very nice to me. When he found out I was pregnant, he was excited to be a father. He was only 17, I was 19. Turns out he was a street racer, I had no problem with that, but then he started committing crimes.
I left. I knew he would look for you and I think that once you are older you will not want anything to do with that man. He is a criminal. He will just pull you into his destructive life. Sure he will love you will all his heart, but he will unintentionally hurt you.
