"Logan!" I yelled grabbing onto the steering wheel and swerving us back to the right side of the road.
His eyes were wild when he turned around trying to regain control of the car; he looked at me quickly and then focused back on the road.
"Thanks" he said evenly with his face showing no trace of any readable emotion.
"Don't mention it".
After a minute or so he spoke again, "I'll drop you home, you should call your brother he's going to want to know where you are" I didn't question how he knew my brother or if I even had a brother and accepting the fact that there was something going on that I would inevitably talk to Noah about sometime or the other.
I nodded, swiftly taking out my phone and texting Noah a small message saying 'I'm safe, I'll meet you at home'.
I didn't get a reply but he read it as soon as I sent it.
"I live-"
"I know where you live"
I smirked at him, he sounded like such a creep.
"Shut up" he groaned trying to stifle a smile.
"Thank you" I said to him staring out the window and watching as houses flew by as we drove by them,
"Don't mention it" he smiled at me, "Listen..." he continued, "I'm sorry about this afternoon I-"
"Logan, I don't know what's going on, but I'm going to find out and when I do-"
"But that still doesn't justify my behaviour, I was a dick and I'm sorry, I may not be able to tell you what's going on; I shouldn't have acted that way, forgive me?".
"Forgiven" I grinned back at him, unable to keep the smile off my face.
When we reached the front of my house there were three figures standing there and looming in the shadows, which was totally not creepy at all.
As I got out of the car I saw Noah, one of the figures, walk straight towards us, fuming. He wasn't even looking at me but rather at the boy who got out of the car who came and stood beside me, looking Noah dead in the eye.
"Ryder" he growled before he reached us,
"Hey look man, I was just dropping her home" Logan said putting his hands up in innocence and walking toward him.
Noah on the other hand shoved him square on the chest making Logan stumble back. They stood in front of each other, daring the other in challenge.
"Noah!" I yelled at him squeezing in the between them and pushing them back by their chests and since they were both quite strong it took some effort.
"You just can't seem to stay away from my sisters can you?" Noah growled to Logan, who just glared back at him unfazed by him,
Logan looked down at me positioned in the middle of them, I gave him a slight nod and his eyes softened, he retreated back to his car and drove off. Only until Logan had left did Noah look back at Mia and Megan who watched us with worry, he gave them a nod towards the door telling them to go inside and they did.
"What were you thinking?" Noah asked me, his tone dangerously low for my liking.
"I was thinking that without Logan I would have been arrested by now"
"I told you to stay away from him"
"I didn't have a choice, I lost you guys in the crowd if anything you should be thankful h-"
"Thankful?" Noah yelled, "thankful to the guy who ruined our freaking lives!"
I flinched at his harsh tone and when he noticed he calmed down slightly.
"Alex you don't know what's going on and I would like to keep it that way, I want you safe, but he is bad news and the longer you hang around him the more in danger you'll be in"
"It's my decision!" I retorted, "It's my choice!"
"If you knew the things he's done to us y-"
"So tell me! Don't expect me to listen to you when I don't even know half the story!"
Noah stood still, his jaw clenched refusing to tell me and I scoffed.
"Alex I forbid you from seeing him again"
I raised my eyebrows at him, "forbid?" I asked, "forbid me from seeing him again?"
"Yes" he replied sternly.
I looked at him dead in the eye, "who do you think you are?"
"I'm your older brother Alex and it's my job t-"
"It's not your freaking job! You're not dad!" I yelled and he instantly looked down at the ground. It was a low blow but it had to be said.
"Do you know how sick you are for bringing that up" he narrowed his eyes at me and my heart rate quickened because he's never spoken to me like that, "You better hope I'm not dad because he's the one who got us into this mess an-"
"But you were the one who was supposed to get us out of it" my voice low and even.
My eyes reached Noah's and his face showed no emotion, his jaw was still clenched so tightly that it looked like his teeth were going to break. He walked back into the house and shutting the door with a slam,
And for the second time today I was left standing alone in the cold.
