All Star weekend. What a dream? At least that's what Maliah thought. It was her first time being around so many famous people, and to say she was starstruck was an understatement. Celebrities such as Chris Brown, Rihanna, Floyd Mayweather, and Beyoncé and Jay-Z were seen around the festival, and Maliah had the opportunity to take pictures and hold conversations with some of them.

Maliah was now in the Smoothie King Center, making her way to her court side seat to watch the All Star basketball game. As she looked around the arena, she couldn't help but smile; she was finally having some time to herself, for she was so busy with medical school and studying for major exams that she never had time to just relax. Now that she was on a slight break from her schooling, she was able to spend some of her money that she saved on a vacation, which just so happened to be NBA related.

Maliah was a big sport fan due to her entire family being athletic, herself included. With basketball being the main passion drilled into her family's heart, she knew everything there was to know about the sport. Her being able to attend All Star weekend was a dream of hers, and now she was living it.

Maliah looked down at her feet to the sound of a ball bouncing her way, her eyes coming in contact with the round object. Bending down and picking it up, she came face to face with no other than Kyrie Irving. With her eyes widening, she froze in her place as Kyrie smirked at her, "What's up, pretty lady? Mind if I get that ball back?" Maliah didn't even process his words, for she was too busy staring at the beautiful man who stood in front of her. A couple seconds had passed before the smirk on Kyrie's face turned into a worrisome frown, waving his large hand in her face. "Uh, hello?"

Snapping out of her trance, Maliah slightly shook her head and blinked, quickly smiling at the 6'3 point guard. "S-sorry," she stuttered, handing the ball over to Kyrie, "I've just never been this close to a professional ball player before, ya' know?" "I can tell," Kyrie chuckled, spinning the ball in between the palm of his hands while taking a quick glimpse at Maliah's attire. A white, casual, but slightly see-through dress hugged her curves while an oversized denim blue flannel covered her shoulders and white Adidas superstars covered her feet; she looked comfortable yet very sexy, and Kyrie digged that.

"So, what brings you to All Star weekend?" Kyrie asked, throwing the basketball over his head and over to his other teammates that were playing on the East side. Maliah cocked her head to the side softly, "What brings everybody else to All Star weekend." Kyrie slowly nodded as Maliah let out a soft giggle. "So you comin' to see the man play, huh? You have my head on a sign or sum'?" Kyrie smiled proudly.

Maliah's smile slowly turned into a frown. Her eyebrow raised as she took in Kyrie's sudden prideful attitude; it was unattractive to say the least, and she always found him to be a humble person. Why the sudden change in personality? "Um, no. I'm more of a Lakers fan to be quite frank with you," Maliah spoke, shrugging her shoulders as Kyrie's facial expression changed. "Oh really? Your team isn't doing as good this year; you sure you don't wanna get with the winning team?"

"You mean the time that cheats their way to victory by paying the refs off? The team that's 'go to player' cries every time he gets 'hurt' on the court, and takes days off just because he wants to? That winning team? I'm good, thanks," Maliah retorted with a slight attitude. Her boldness took Kyrie off guard, and she could tell by his sudden inability to speak; she took this time to make her way off. "Nice.. meeting you, Mr. Irving," she nodded softly, walking past him and to her seat, sitting down in her chair and crossing her legs.

As Maliah took out her phone and went on social media, Kyrie stood in the same position he was in before, his eyes never leaving Maliah. He didn't mean to come off so boastful— he was just trying to impress the girl. Her personality was something so unique to him, and he truly wanted to see what else she was about. Fellow East teammate, Jimmy Butler, walked up to Kyrie and patted his shoulder, "You good, man?" "Perfect," Kyrie nodded, turning towards the court and walking over to the rest of his teammates with Jimmy following shortly behind.

Kyrie was determined to change Maliah's first impression of him, and he was going to change it right after the All Star game.

"Good game, Irving, you'll always putting your best foot forward out on the court," LeBron nodded, dapping Kyrie up. Kyrie smiled in return and gave LeBron a man hug, patting his back, "Thanks, brotha'."

With that, LeBron went into the locker room as Kyrie stayed out on the court, searching for Maliah alongside the court. Catching a glimpse of her denim shirt, Kyrie rushed over to her as Maliah gathered all of her things. "Um, excuse me, miss?" Kyrie asked wearily, causing Maliah to look up at him with a straight face. "Oh.. yeah?" Maliah answered blandly, resting her weight on one leg as she looked up at Kyrie in annoyance. "I wanted to apologize for the way I presented myself earlier. That isn't me, and I would appreciate if you give me another shot at introducing myself; maybe I could take you out while you're still out here?" Kyrie requested, biting down on his bottom lip nervously.

Maliah stared at Kyrie for a while and pondered upon his request; Kyrie's first impression wasn't what she was expecting, and a part of her was hoping that he would come over to her and ask her for a second shot. She wanted to experience the Kyrie that was in front of cameras; usually celebrities were different in a negative way off camera, but him? She had a feeling he was a different kind of celebrity— a different kind of person.

"Fine. You better make it up to me, Irving," Maliah broke, Kyrie letting out a sigh of relief. Maliah took out an ink pen and took Kyrie's hand, writing her number down on his arm, drawing a heart following the sequence of numbers. "Put my number in your phone before you get in the shower. You smell pretty bad," Maliah nodded, walking past Kyrie again, but this time, with a smile. Kyrie looked back and watched Maliah leave the arena, looking down at the ground, his cheeks rosy from her comment.

"I never knew you were so damn good at basketball. Damn girl!" Kyrie exclaimed as he walked side by side with Maliah. Maliah held a giant stuffed puppy in her hands as she laughed, "You should've known. I told you my family didn't play when it came to the game; why did you underestimate me?" "I just thought—"

"That since you were a professional, you'd have the upper hand? Yeah, no," Maliah smirked, causing Kyrie to roll his eyes. "Whatever, Maliah." Kyrie had taken Maliah out to a street festival that was always open during All Star weekend. Since so many people came to this event every year, they decided to have festivals all around the area. "Even though you're a sore ass loser, I had a lot of fun," Maliah nodded slowly, looking up at Kyrie who was already looking down at her, "Thanks for taking me out tonight."

"It's no problem," Kyrie chuckled, lazily putting his arm around Maliah's shoulders, "I'm just glad I got your perception of me to change." "What makes you think it changed?" Maliah raised an eyebrow with a smirk. "It didn't?" Kyrie questioned with furrowed eyebrows. Maliah couldn't help but laugh again, shaking her head, "Loosen up, Ky, it did."

Kyrie smiled at the new nickname he earned from the girl. Although the duo had just met officially, Kyrie felt that this night on the town would transform into something even more— well, he hoped.

"Can I see you again?"

"If you keep this up, you can see me whenever you'd like to."

"Great. Let's make a plan for tomorrow night," Kyrie smirked. "You're lucky I'm on a break from school," Maliah blushed, walking around the festival with Kyrie for the rest of their night out together.

i hope you enjoyed it, maliah.
