It was the weekend and you were in the supermarket, sitting and waiting for your mother to finish grocery shopping. You left your phone at home so you were tapping at the side of the seat waiting impatiently.
*CRASH* *BANG* *BOOM*
"What th-" You managed to utter as parts of the shopping center's roof started to cave in. You couldn't believe your eyes, you stood up immediately and gaped in awe in the sudden chaos around you. People were running and screaming everywhere, loud booms were heard from above and around. Are we being bombed? Wait... where's mum!?
"Mum!" you yelled but no avail. You were frozen to the ground, unsure what to do. Looking up you could make out figures on the roof. Squinting you managed to make out further detail. Your eyes widened as they didn't look like humans are any other animal you have ever seen.
"Aliens!" Someone yelled and pointed to where you were looking. What? Impossible!
The strange creatures were throwing down ropes through the holes in the ceiling.
"Oh no..." You mumbled to yourself, "This can't be good." You hurriedly looked around for your mother but she was no where to been seen, you had to make a move and soon. The aliens were sliding down the ropes in an army, they were stocked with weapons. You held your breath and your body stiffened. A gunshot pierced through the air and a whole new wave of chaos began as the aliens began to all shoot their guns at the fleeing people. You stared in absolute horror as people were shot down. You suddenly snapped out of your trance and broke into and full sprint towards the nearest exit. Your heart was beating faster than you thought was possible, you were running out of pure terror, you were running for your life.
Something pierced your lower leg. You blinked in shock as your leg gave in beneath you and you fell to the floor. The delay of pain stunned you, but then you felt it, it burned and seared, you were shot. You dared to look back at you leg, there was blood oozing from your pants, the bullet hit your calf muscle. Laying on the floor, you struggled to get up, not accepting this as an end. A boy suddenly ran over to you, he wore a yellow shirt and his face was full of panic. "Let me help you!" He said as he grabbed your arm. You leaned on him for support and you both managed to make your way outside.
"T-thanks." You breathed heavily, wincing in pain. The boy continued to lead you out in the car park.
"My mum is still in there..." You mumbled. "I-I'm sorry, we can't go back." The boy said, he looked at the ground. "I-I know.. thank you for saving me." You said sitting on the curb.
"I had to, I couldn't leave you there," Morty clarified, "Rick doesn't like me helping strangers... but I have an excuse." You were just about to ask who Rick was until a man walked up to them.
"And what excuse might that be, Morty." The man, who you presumed was Rick, grumbled.
"I couldn't leave her." Morty whined, "She was injured."
"Well good job for saving her." Rick said in a distracted voice and he removed a flask from his lab coat, "Shame we can't save this dimen-urrp- sion, the aliens really fucked it all up."
"Dimension?" You blinked staring at the man like he was mad.
"Yeah kiddo." Rick confirmed, "There many of em, and yours is in pretty bad shape." You looked down at the ground. No shit...
"Lets go Morty." Rick beckoned, "Back to our dimension, we got enough weapons from the aliens."
"What about her?" Morty asked firmly.
"You want to bring her?!" Rick retaliated, "Where the hell is she gonna go when she gets to our dimension?"
"I-I don't know Rick..." Morty fretted, "But if she stays here she will die!"
"Arghh fine, whatever Morty" Rick grumbled.
Morty smiled.
"Don't worry about Rick." He assured, "You are with us now."
