"May you always be satisfied!" Angelica finished her speech at Eliza and Alexanders wedding. We all clapped, laughing. I walked over to Angelica.
"How are you? I know this must be hard." I rubbed her arm, getting a sigh in return.
"It's upsetting. Very upsetting. But, as long as my dear sister is happy, that is all I shall care for." She replied, her voice dripping with sadness.
"Oh Angelica. You say Eliza is trusting and kind, but you are just as equal." She scoffed.
"What trusting and kind sister falls in love with her sisters husband?"
"You cannot help what you feel. Now, run along and find John." I pushed her towards where her husband was standing. She turned around.
"You better find yourself a suitor, f/n, or I'll have my father beat you!" She called out, walking towards J. Church. I laughed.
"You still haven't found yourself a suitor?" I heard a voice from behind me, making me jump. I turned around, only to see the one and only John Laurens.
"Stop always scaring me! And no I haven't." He gave me a weird look.
"Why doesn't a lovely lady like you have one?" He asked curiously. I snorted.
"Lovely? I'm far from lovely. Intelligent? Yes. Stubborn? Yes. Even Scandalous, yes. But lovely? Oh no."
"Is that so?" He laughed.
"Yes it is, indeed." I smiled, him returning.
"What's the point anyways? I don't need a man bossing me around. Nor do I want one." I would never want a man bossing me around. Well, so people think. I honestly wouldn't mind one man bossing me around. And that is the man standing in front of me. Yes, I know John Laurens is a friend and all, but that's the thing. I don't want to just be friends. He has quiet the face and attitude.
"Well Ms. Independent. May I have this dance at least?" He bowed, holding his hand out.
"Hm.... I'm not sure." I acted like I was thinking.
"Well well well if it isn't Mr. Laurens. Asking Ms. L/n to a dance I see?" I turned around to see Samuel Smith. Oh how much I hated that baboon. He was twice my age and reeked of oldness. He has been trying to court me for around 6 months now, but I've always pushed myself away from him.
"Sorry lad, but I reserved this dance already." He turned to me.
John gave me a weird look.
"What does he mean f/n?" My eyes went wide.
"I don't know John what do you mean, Smith?" I turned to him, a questioning look playing along my face. He turned as red as a cherry.
"W-well I mean, you wouldn't want to dance with this lad would you? He is just a normal soldier. Myself, now I can't say the same. I have quiet the amount of money that would surely give you all the pleasure you desire." That made me annoyed, and a few people around us started to stare.
"The only "pleasure I desire," would be from my dear friend Laurens right here. You may want to spoil something but, myself, now I can't say the same." I said quizzaciously. He glared.
"Let me tell you now you b-" his voice was cut off by a fist hitting his cheek. DAMNNNNN.
"Don't you ever and I mean EVER talk to f/n like that again. Now leave." John yelled, all attention on us now.
"Is there a problem?" Alexander said, walking up to us. John motioned to Samuel. Alexander nodded.
"Mr. Smith I think it is about time you leave." Alexander said, motioning to the door. Samuel glared at us, but stomped out. Alexander and Laurens exchanged their thanks and soon everything was normal again.
"Now f/n, before we were rudely interrupted, you said something about you being scandalous. I wish to see so myself." John gave me a dirty smirk, in which I returned.
"Gladly."
