Beyoncé

I followed behind Jay. I was furious with him for dragging me into this mess but it wasn't like he planned for this, and I was furious with myself for allowing him to take me out but this was what I signed up for. I wasn't gonna lie. I was freaked out by what was going on and I didn't know how to protect myself. This was why I steered away from anyone who associated themselves with drugs. Everything was always taken to a personal level.

"Cassie!"he yelled.

"Jay what was that all about?! Somebody could've been killed!"I screamed.

"Man stop screaming. You gon' wake up the neighbours,"he nonchalantly said making me roll my eyes. He was so casual about this. Somebody could've died tonight.

The five of Jay's siblings came running downstairs.

"Are y'all alright?"Morocco ran into Jay's arms.

"'Alright'? Jay these people had guns on them! We were scared to death!"Cassie screamed.

"You screaming too now?"Jay kissed his teeth.

"Who were those guys?"Cy'Cah queried.

"And what is she doing here?"Naharyi looked me up and down.

"I like Ms Beyoncé. She's pretty and she's nice,"Morocco hugged me.

"Y'all go into the kitchen and shut the door,"Cassie looked away.

"Why?"

"Just go!"Cassie burst out and they walked into the kitchen.

"Bye Ms Beyoncé."

"Bye Morocco,"I waved at her. Once the door shut Cassie went off.

"Shawn Corey Carter what the hell is wrong with yo ass?!"

"No need to sound like mom,"he sat down turning the tv on. I really hated this man for how he was acting. Did he not care?

I grabbed the remote and turned the tv off.

"You alright yeah?"Jay frowned at me.

"Jay what is your problem? One of us could've been killed tonight!"

"Did you die though?"he rolled his eyes bringing out his phone. Cassie grabbed it and threw it against the wall.

"Are you fucking serious?!"Jay stood up.

"This is what drug dealing does! It puts your family in danger!"

"Well how else do I get the money?! This house didn't come cheap! Y'all designers and branded shit didn't come from thin air! The clothes on your back are from drug money. Naharyi's dance classes are paid for by drug money. Faith's tutor lessons are from drug money. Cy'Cah's Jordans are from drugs. Morocco's holiday camps are from drug money. Y'all ain't complaining when I flash my money but when shit hits the fan you wanna start screaming 'this is what drug dealing does!'. Man fuck outta here with that shit,"I shook my head at Jay.

"I can't believe you Jay. Ma is laying in a hospital bed. She could die any minute but I know she's gonna make it out of there. Would you want her to come out and find there's five children instead of six?"Jay sat back down and rubbed his fade. "You know what? I don't even know why I bother,"she huffed and a tear fell from her eye. Cassie stomped to the kitchen to join her three sisters and brother.

"You're disgusting,"I rolled my eyes.

"Shut the fuck up,"I scoffed at his words and walked into the kitchen. These children were going through so much. First their mom and now this.

"Hey,"I nervously said walking into the kitchen. Naharyi kissed her teeth.

"Stop it Naharyi. How do you think she feels? All she was doing was going on a date with a guy and she ended up having to come here because some goons were waving guns around on our lawn,"Cassie defended me.

"How y'all feeling? I know y'all must've been shaken up by this,"I played with Morocco's hair.

"I thought I was gonna die Ms Beyoncé,"Morocco sat on my lap and rested her head on my chest when I sat at the island.

"It's gonna be alright Morocco. You're not going to die."

"How are you so sure? I mean those niggas can come back in the night and start shooting the place up,"Naharyi looked at me.

"As much as Naharyi's attitude is pissing me off I agree with her. Ms Beyoncé I don't feel comfortable with us staying here. This is a quiet neighbourhood but everywhere Jay goes trouble follows and we're always behind Jay. Jay knows how to protect himself but we don't. We can't sleep here tonight,"Cassie sighed.

"Y'all can come stay with me for a few days. My house isn't the biggest but there's room for y'all. I got a younger sister who's about your age Naharyi,"she rolled her eyes. "I don't know what I'll do if she was in that kinda danger."

"Is your sister pretty like you?"Morocco asked.

"She's very pretty and I'm not letting y'all stay here."

"Momma told us to not go home with strangers,"Naharyi tilted her head.

"Naharyi Faye Esther Aliyah Carter I am just about ready to whoop yo smart ass. We can be dead by tomorrow morning if we stay here but Ms Beyoncé here, who we are strangers to, is offering to put up with us and let us into her home. She doesn't have to, especially since she didn't wanna end up here but she is and the least we can do is show her our appreciation,"this was the first time I heard Faith speak so much in a minute. From what I'd seen she was quiet and reserved.

"I'm not here to cause trouble. I can see that y'all are in danger so all I wanna do is help y'all out,"I defended myself.

"I like you Ms Beyoncé,"Morocco looked up at me.

"You can call me Bey or Bey Bey,"I smiled at them all and rested my chin on Morocco's head full of hair.

"Can I call you Bumblebee?"

"You can,"I giggled at Morocco's cuteness.

"Well you can call me CoCo just like everyone else then."

"Bey you've saved our lives, honestly. Thank you so much for this,"Cassie smiled at me.

"Don't mention it."

"Right. Y'all go pack for three days. Take everything you need,"Cassie ordered her siblings.

"I'd prefer it if y'all stayed a week instead of three days. We can be more certain that y'all won't get caught up with those men,"she beamed.

"Thank you! Y'all heard Bey so pack for a week straight,"they all stood up and CoCo kissed my cheek.

"Yo Bey you got any sisters my age? Maybe we can double date,"Cy'Cah asked making me bust out laughing.

"I'm sorry I don't,"he shrugged and grinned at me.

"Bey did you know about Jay's drug dealing?"I shook my head. Cassie was someone I didn't want to lie to but I couldn't blow my cover. "Then I apologise on behalf of my big brother. He has an IQ the size of my fake nail,"she showed me her nails and I giggled.

"I'm here for y'all. You're a good sister Cassie and a good person,"we hugged and she followed her way upstairs.
