"Ava, wake up.." I felt someone shaking me awake.

"Carry me..." I mumbled.

I heard Trent get out of the truck. I peeked my eyes open and seen him walking around the front of the truck to my side.

"Come on lazy." he chuckled while I help my arms out to him.

He picked me up bridal style.

When we got in side he asked "Where's your room?".

"Upstairs.." I whispered, still half asleep.

He laid me down on my bed and pulled the covers up to my waist. I felt him sit next to me on the edge if my bed, softly brushing my hair out of my face.

"You gonna be okay alone?" he asked.

"Why wouldn't i be?"

"Is this the first time you've ever been drunk?" he asked.

"This drunk? yes." I replied, honestly.

"You might get sick." he said, sounding generally concerned.

"I'll be okay." I yawned.

"Alright, goodnight." he said, and walked downstairs.

As soon as I heard him step off of the bottom step an overwhelming feeling of nausea came over me.

"Trent!" I yelled as I stumbled off of my bed and into the bathroom across the hall.

I heard him stomping up the steps.

"What's wrong?!"

I didn't answer. Instead, I busted open the bathroom door and collapsed on the floor in front of the toilet.

"Go away, this is disgusting." I said, trying to hide my face.

"It's not a big deal." he shrugged as he kneeled beside me and rubbed my back.

It was getting harder for me to hold my hair back, I needed both hands to support myself over the toilet seat.

"I got you.." he said as he held my hair for me in one hand and continued rubbing my back with the other.

There he goes again.. making my stomach flutter. Well, it was either his words or the alcohol. Either way, it was still his fault, because he gave me the drinks.

When I was sure I was finished throwing up I shakily tried to stand up.

"Here.." he said as he put his arm around my waist, helping me walk to the sink.

I brushed my teeth and lazily combed through my hair.

"Sobered up?" he joked.

"Don't let me drink ever again." I lightly laughed as I walked out of the bathroom, Trent following behind me.

"Want some water?" he asked.

"Please?" I smiled.

He smiled back and walked downstairs.

I heard him going through things, most likely looking for a glass.

He came back 5 minutes later with a glass of ice water, Tylenol, and crackers.

"You're the best." I smiled up at him.

"So I've been told." he joked back.

I took the Tylenol and started snacking on the crackers.

"So..." he started, "tell me about yourself."

"Uhm.. like what?" I replied.

"Y'know, like... hobbies? favorite things? what do you like?"

"Well, I like camping, horses, hanging out with friends. My favorite food is cereal, my favorite drink is sweet tea, my favorite animal would have to be a dog, I love babies and kids.." I stopped when I noticed him staring at me.

"What?" I asked, chuckling.

"Nothing it's just... we have a lot in common." he smiled.

"Sooo, you like babies and kids?" I asked while laughing.

"I love them, why is that so funny?" he smirked.

"I don't know... most guys could care less about kids, they think they're annoying or something I guess."

"Does that make me more attractive?" he asked poking at my sides.

"A little, but you gotta keep trying." I said, laughing back.

"You should get some rest." he said, smiling at me.

"I know."

"Then sleep?"

"I can't."

"I can leave if..."

"No it's not that.." I interrupted him.

"Then what?" he asked, looking suspiciously at me.

"I can't sleep without Jake at the house."

"Ava I'm sure he's fine-"

"No, it's not that I'm worried about him..." I said shakily.

Ever since our mom died I've had multiple nightmares, they come and go, but ever since 3 months ago they've just gotten worse.

"Are you scared?" he joked.

"No." I laughed back. "Promise you won't laugh?"

"I promise." He said looking more serious now.

"I have these crazy nightmares.. these last 3 months they've been coming more and more... and it's just.. jake is the one who wakes me up when they come."

** Trent's p.o.v **

"Jake is the one who wakes me up when they come." she finished.

"How bad are they?" I questioned, genuinely concerned.

Ava has nightmares that only her brother can get her out of, of course i'd be concerned.

"They can range from me being able to sleep through them to me having cold sweats and sobbing in my sleep." she said, looking out the window.

"What are they about?" I asked softly.

"Uh.. just someone I care a lot about." She replied, still not making eye contact with me.

"I can stay.." I start, "if you want, that is." Nice save, Trent.
