Prom night.

The night that is one of the most important nights in a high school girl's life.

You get all dolled up just to look perfect for a few hours.

Me on the other hand? I could care less what I looked like. Of course I did find a nice dress, but did I have a date? No. It didn't bother me that I didn't have a date. I did have a guy in mind that I wanted to ask me to go with him, but according to my friends, he wasn't going to prom at all. I was a bit down about it at first, but then I quickly got over it. I shouldn't waste my time on boys and on a night that would only last for a few hours.

My friends had their dates and one of them even suggested that I went to prom with her little brother...but I just couldn't see myself doing that.

"Juliet...are you just going to sit at the table all night and not dance at all?" my friend asked.

"No. I'll get up to get some punch. Or I'll get up to use the bathroom. Ya know, cause I'm sure I'll need to pee from drinking all the punch."

My friend sighed then left me alone at the table to dance with her prom date. I leaned my elbow on the table and rested my head on my hand. I was watching all the couples dancing to fast songs, slow songs and normal tempo songs. After sitting there, bored out of my mind, I stand up only to bump into someone.

"I'm sorr--" but I stopped talking. It was him. The boy I wanted to ask me to prom. Harry.

"Hey, Juliet," he said with a smile.

I looked him over head to toe. He was definitely dressed for prom, not to mention that his tie matched my dress...which was sky blue.

"I thought you didn't want to come to prom, Harry."

"I guess I changed my mind at the last minute."

I tilted my head in confusion. Last minute? How could he have gotten his prom ticket when the last day to get them was two weeks ago?

"Last minute?"

He nodded his head and smiled again.

"How is that even possible, Harry? The tickets got sold out two--" he placed his fingers to my lip to shush me.

"Dance with me, Juliet?" he asked sweetly.

I slowly nodded. He took his fingers away from my lips and grabbed onto my right hand. Slowly, he began to pull me towards the crowd of couples already dancing to the song All My Life by K-Ci and JoJo. He walked me to the middle of the crowd and pulled me flush against his chest. I could feel his chest rising and falling. Harry gave me no choice but to put my arms around his neck because he had placed his hands on my waist. As we began to slowly dance, I could feel the eyes of everyone around us. When I looked, I saw them staring at Harry and I. They weren't even dancing anymore.

"Harry," I whispered as the song continued.

"Yes, Juliet?"

I looked around again and they still were staring at Harry and I. It felt weird. Why weren't they dancing?

"No one else is dancing...not to mention that they're just staring at us..."

I felt his laugh vibrate through his chest and into mine. How could he find this funny?

"Pretend they're not looking. Just focus on us. Focus on me..."

Now that wasn't going to be hard; the focusing on him part. He was all I could focus on during school. I'd focus on his hands, his eyes, his lips...his voice.
