02 | "Duck!" "Where?!"

The dinner didn't actually go to plan and we ended up nearly burning the kitchen down because of our amazing cooking skills so we opted for ordering pizza instead. We sat on the couches talking and laughing away, my English accent stood out in between all of the American ones.

It was then I met Dylan, Kyle, Chase and Liam.

Dylan who was busy laughing at this own joke had brown hair and hazel eyes, you could say he's the joker of the group but the only thing he receives are insults instead of laughs.

Kyle, who had smacked Dylan on the back of his head for his lame joke had jet-black hair, styled messily and deep blue eyes. He and Dylan bickered back and forth, once they started there was no stopping them.

Liam, having a stare down with his brother, Chase, for the last slice of meat lovers pizza has dirty blonde hair and green eyes, and like Dylan, Kyle, Megan and Noah he was 21.

Chase has dirty blonde hair and blue eye. He's 17 like Mia and I, he's also one of Mia's best friends, but I could see that Mia thought of him as more than just a friend by the way she laughed at all his jokes and gave all her attention to him.

"Hey Liam pass me my-" Kyle began

"Apology letter from the condom factory"

"Dylan I swear to God if you-"

"Get any awesomer I'll jump off a building"

"Seriously I'm-"

"Not even joking"

"Your jokes-"

"Are funny and everyone better laugh"

"Are you-"

"The best? Yes Kyle, yes I am"

"Dude he can do this all day just give it up" Liam ended chuckling.

While they all joked and laughed about anything and everything, I couldn't help but think that Noah did build a good life here and he was doing pretty well. I just hope I can fit into that life too.

I offered to clean the dishes and Mia joined me, there wasn't much of a protest from the others.

"So you and Chase huh?" I questioned in a hushed voice nudging her slightly,

"Shhh!" She shushed me even though a large smile spread across her face as she washed and I dried the plates.

I gave her a blank look, over the sound of the Adventure Time marathon playing on television coupled with their cheering and yelling they couldn't here us even if we screamed.

"He isn't interested, Lex" Mia said with a long sigh,

"Have you asked him?"

"No"

"Then how do you know?"

"He fancies another girl, he was telling me during dinner"

"We'll just have to see about that..."

"Huh?" Mia said,

They don't call me Alex, Cupid's Assistant" I said making dramatic hand gestures in front of us as if showing her headlines.

She snorted, "Oh yeah, who calls you that?"

"Uhm.. Everyone you know all my friends back in England"

She snorted again "Uh huh yeah and I'm not a natural blonde"

"Really?" I questioned, rather stupidly now that I think about it,
