I've been commissioned by Wattpad and The Handmaid's Tale, a new Hulu Original series premiering April 26th (based on Margaret Atwood's classic novel of the same name), to write a 500-word story with a strong focus on female empowerment.
One of the most important responsibilities we have is to ensure that every person has the right to determine their own future and fate. Sadly, many women still feel they've been discriminated against; at school, in the workplace, and even at home. They've been made to believe they are the lesser sex, and conditioned to follow certain roles in life, roles not every woman wants or feels comfortable with.
But females today are not only finding their voices — they're using them! They're taking a stand for independence and learning to support one another along the way. I hope you'll join Wattpad and The Handmaid's Tale and support the empowerment of women everywhere!
