Unexpected

Melanie POV
I woke up in my bed, which means Odell carried me up here

I also woke up to someone knocking on my door

Opening it I'm shocked at what I see

"Morning, are you Melanie Lakes?"

"That's me.." I respond grabbing the bouquet of roses from the stranger "and who is this from?"

"Cards inside, have a good rest of your day" he responds as he walks back to his truck

Setting them down on the counter, I open the card and the roses are from Odell

The card reads...
' Hey Mel,  just wanted to let you know I was thinkin about you! I want to take you somewhere fancy tonight be ready at 8 '
~ Dell

Before I can even react I'm interrupted by the doorbell again

"Can I come in?" Jarvis asks knowing I don't want to see him right now

"No" I start to close the door but he catches it with his foot and let's himself in

"Mel I went too far" he admits

"You think?" I say sarcastically

"I just don't want to see you get hurt again"

"About that..you told Odell?" I ask getting angry again

"I didn't think you would mind"

"YOU DIDN'T THINK I WOULD MIND?" I almost yell "How much did you tell him?"

"I just said you recently got out of a bad relationship with Cam, I didn't go into any details of how--"

"Okay good, we don't need to keep talking about it" I cut him off

"Anyways, who sent you flowers?" he asks pointing behind me

"A friend" I respond

"Who in particular?" he questions

"Does it matter?"

He gets up and picks up the card before I can get to it

"Wow..." is all he says

"What?!" I ask irritated once again

"I've never seen Odell do something like this before, all he ever really cares about is himself" he jokes

I start blushing and Jarvis notices

"So you and Beckham huh?" he says and I hide my face

"He's alright, we're just friends"

"Maybe I was wrong"

"Noooo you? Never wrong J, never!" I joke back

"So you two are going out to dinner without me, is this a date?" he asks

"No...well I don't think it is, we're JUST friends" I laugh

"Alright I'm late for workouts, but I want to hear all about this 'hanging out' tonight. I've got a little date of my own."

"Wait, what?! Who?!" I ask following him out

"Can't say gotta go!" he says speeding off

"Are you sure I look ok?" I ask Odell for the third time as we walk into a fancy seafood restaurant called 'Lobster'

He grabs my hand "Melanie you look beautiful for the third time"

"Am I overdressed?" I ask and he just stares at me and I burst out laughing, which makes him laugh

"You have the best smile Odell"

He starts smiling really big and pulls out my chair for me "First the flowers and now this, such a gentleman" I joke

The waiter comes up and takes our drink order and we are sitting in a sort of awkward silence

"So how were workouts?" I ask

"Well Juice came in late which made us have to do 10 times the amount we usually do so not that great"

"Hmmm wonder why.." I say awkwardly

"He said he had to meet up with someone"

"Interesting.." I say even more awkward

"Was that someone you?" he asks

I nod my head yes

"You both good now?"

"Yes, he actually saw the flowers. He was just as impressed as I was..he asked me if this was a date" I laugh

"What'd you say?" Odell asks me and I freeze

"I said we were just hanging out because..."

"I would call it a date" Odell finishes for me

I start blushing again and try to hide my face but he stops me "I think it's cute"

"Odell why do you say all the right things" I tease and then I freeze again once I notice the last person I wanted to see sitting at a table across the room

"What's wrong Mel?" Odell asks me concerned

"He's here..."

"Who?" Odell asks even more concerned

"Ca...Cam he's here" I stutter
