All of a sudden seventeen-year-old Esther Masen's world came tumbling down. Her parents just died of Spanish influenza and the only family she had left was Edward.

But then she saw Dr Carlisle turn him into a vampire her world fell apart. She became obsessed with them and she wanted to make Edward pay for leaving her.

But thing changes when her fiancé, Vincent Floyd's family moved to France. She decided to go and have a fresh start away from Chicago where all her memories of Edward were. For four and everything is perfect, Esther was happily married and had two beautiful twins.

Her world fell apart again when Vincent died at war. Grief struck she left to die at the hands of the Volturi. But Aro thought that she had potential to become a great asset for the Volturi.

Now decades later Esther finds herself in the same city as the Cullens' and she's going to start some trouble, but along that way she finds something that could redeem her and possibly cause her alliances to shift.
