Me: *Thinking* Lance McClain is such a deep and interesting character yet all people reduce him to the comic relief. He's ultimately selfless in the way that he would sacrifice himself for the sake of others. Which is seen during the fall of the castle of the lions when he uses his own body as a shield to protect Coran from the Galra bomb. He also reminds Keith multiple times during the fight for the balmera, that the balmera is a living creature and that they can't let any harm come to it. He is also seen to have his insecurities and homesickness, as any teenage boy would, yet he does not complain or outright says he wants to go home. He continues to fight for sake of others despite still being just a boy who was suddenly thrust into a new life, one that could kill him at any moment.
