I Walk A Lonely Road

I walk a lonely road
always dreaded,
seldom used.
A road that is known for
shoving it's travelers
into an eternal doom.
Standing at the edges are people
who seem to care for me.
They smile at me as I face them,
but spit on me as I pass them.
But no one
dares to tread on this road
known for shoving it's travelers
into an eternal doom.
I'm not normal, they say.
I'm not pure, they say.
I don't conform with their law,
their religion.
I wonder why they don't get it that,
nature is the prime law,
And I'm just another creation of nature
innocent and pure.

I walk a lonely road
always dreaded,
seldom used.
I don't know where it's taking me
so I only keep going.
And guiding me is a small ray of sunshine
insignificant to other eyes.
But my heart perceives this
as the truth that only I know.
That I'm just another creation of nature
innocent and pure.

Another road runs beside mine
bearing the burden of thousands of "straight" people.
People who slander others
because of their own insecurities,
people finding relief
in turning others down.
I let them abuse me, though,
if they're pathetic enough
to achieve joy in mocking me,
all because I belong to a minority.

I walk a lonely road
always dreaded,
seldom used.
Sharp pebbles cut my feet,
the wounds getting deeper
with each step.
I stumble every now and then,
but get up on my own.
No one wants to hold my hand,
even though my sufferings are well known.
And guiding me is that same ray of sunshine.
I'm just another creation of nature
innocent and pure.

At a distance,
A convergence comes into view.
Building it are people
who have the guts to stand for their beliefs,
who want to hold my hand
and tell me that I'm no different.
They take me to another road
not made of cement,
but emanating from clear, rational thought.
And together we leap into the future
as I take a last look at my road.
It taught me to be myself.
And that little ray of sunshine
which whispered to my ear,
I'm just another creation of nature
innocent and pure.

Author's note:
Hi, reader. Thank you for reading this. I was like so nervous when I was about to publish this book but now that I think of it, we all can share our opinions on wattpad, right? And this poem isn't meant to stereotype straight people as cruel and mindless. It talks about those people who act like supporting the LGBT people but deep inside still bear prejudices in their minds. Again, if I've hurt the feelings of any person belonging to a different gender, I'm extremely sorry. Posting sensitive stuff like this can sometimes lead you into trouble....but who cares? Feel free to criticize my work through comments, okay? I welcome all sorts of constructive criticism.
Thank you again for picking this book. And hold on, there are more poems to come...

Love,
MyriadOfSmiles
