23. Empty Face

I see myself, my empty face
Shadowing thoughts I'm expected to show
The mirror shows a face of grace
But inside I'm empty, that I'm sure

Your dilated eyes red with lust
Imprisoning me in this cage at dusk
You snake your way upto my bust
I reek of you, that dusty musk

I'm a prisoner in your jail
But I let you fill this empty space
I realize I have no reason to bail
Who'd want me? I'm a disgrace

The mirror reflects my skin all scarred
From the places where you left your mark
Now I'm rotting, my heart all barred
You left me empty in the palace of dark

So here I am, an empty face
Shadowing thoughts I'm expected to show
So my mirror shows a face of grace
But inside I'm empty, that I know
