When I got to Illumination Bar, Amanda had dragged Addi outside. My mostly-sane friend didn't seem that drunk, unlike the tall blonde who thought she was still inside, dancing and talking. I could hear her 'talking' to someone named Owen.
"Alright, you two," I said, pulling them towards my car. "Time to go home,"
Addi yanked her arm out of mine. "Unhand me, peasant!" I just sighed and laughed, before herding her into the backseat. When I finally locked her in the car, Amanda had turned to go back inside. I jogged to catch up with her.
"Nope. You aren't staying." I said, pulling her back.
"Why not?"
"Because I'm your only ride home. If you have a definite ride home you can stay."
She pouted but got in the car. One long, loud car ride later, I pulled up at Addi's apartment building. We escorted her up to her apartment, where her roommate opened the door.
"Hello my guys, gals, and non-binary pals," Addi said, drunkenly bowing to her roommate, Jessie Newman. The non-binary, asexual human snorted before pulling Addison inside.
"There are literally no guys here, bitch," they shot back.
"Does that really matter? Does life really matter? Are we not just meaningless specks of dust in the eternal existence of the universe?" Addi shot back. Oh brother. This again. "We have no meaning. We have no reason to be here. So why are we here. Evolution? I don't think so. We don't have a reason, but we need one."
"My friend, how about you have an existential crisis in your room?" Jessie started leading Addi into their apartment, but turns and remarks over her shoulder, "Thanks for getting her home,"
"No problem, Jessie,"
A/N: Sorry for the short chapter! Once I get through introducing these characters, it'll move faster and I can write longer chapters. I might put up a chapter tomorrow, but it's more likely to be up on Sunday. Apparently, my chronic procrastinating also applies to things that I want to do. I've done something I don't want to do to put off doing something I want to do. Something about that is fucked up....
Also, thanks to ThePenintheStone for the line "Hello my guys, gals, and non-binary pals," and the character
