Chapter 6

"Now Sarah, answer me with a direct answer"

Sarah heart beat was beating fast, and that had nothing to do with the fact that Alex was angry and was treating her roughly but a lot to do with that fact that their close proximity was doing some havoc in her system and in her head

"I told you, I don't have a lover." She said. Her eyes flaming

Alex gave a chuckle and caged her tightly between his arms

"Am no child Sarah, I clearly heard you say that..." He stopped

Sarah's heart skipped a beat. They were so engrossed in their argument that they didn't notice Alex had made his hands slide on her hair, their eyes fixed on each other

Alex gave a low growl, he didn't even know when that animalistic sound came out from him. His heart was telling him to back off, move away but his body was telling him otherwise. His blue eyes was fixed on Sarah's lips and he couldn't get his eyes off it. Sarah subconsciously placed her hands on Alex's broad chest and his eyes trailed to hers

A woman in her early thirties passed them by with a smile on her face, she stole a glance at Sarah and when their eyes met, Sarah blushed. Sarah didn't want to be the talk of the party nor did she want to be rumored as the employee who is interested in her boss

"Please, let me go Alex" She said again "I don't want..."

"You never wanted anything. You have never wanted anything. You're always the independent woman'' Alex said coldly staring her down

Sarah pushed him off her with all of her willpower and she said angrily

"If am interested in having our past relationship affair mended and understood to you, I would have already made the move to do so. but am not, nor will I ever be interested in telling you about it"

After saying that, she walked out on him. Alex pocketed his hands and watched her go. She was truly a stubborn woman and he had every hope of claiming and taming that heart again and the body of course,and to break it also..she was powerless against him....weak

Sarah nearly stumbled when she got to the bar where the drinks were being served, she drank two cups, her thoughts were everywhere and she was scared. She wanted him badly. Their encounter at the corridor had proved that to her, his very closeness and breath mingling with hers had made every rational thought in her head to fly, she just had to avoid him throughout the rest of the night and that would be best for her

"A penny for your thoughts?" A voice asked beside her

Sarah's eyes roamed quickly to kyles face, his smile lifted her spirits and made her smile back

"I'm just tired, that's all."

Kyle sat down beside her and said

"I saw you and Alex leave, I thought you both were already leaving and I was scared because I didn't get your number"

"No..we just had to sort a few things out"

"All right" kyle said

The sound of a person talking with the aid of a microphone drew their attention of all the people present.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for attending this party that was hosted by the executives of IBENA. We all appreciate your coming and we would like everyone to participate in the last dance for the evening, as the song is played, we also wish you a safe journey back to your respective destinations".

The crowd clapped and everyone was already moving towards the dancefloor. kyle extended his hands towards Sarah but a strong arm came to rest on her waist pulling her closer to him, holding her in place. From the heat and the size of the body, Sarah had already known who it was and his voice only confirmed it

"She dances with me"

He pulled her gently into his warmth as he escorted her to the dancefloor. Sarah's heart had already started doing flip flops. Alex's hands came to rest on her waist pulling her closer to him until her whole body was flushed against his.Sarahs hands rested on his arms and her other hand moved in sync with his. She looked upwards to meet his eyes, when he looked at her also, she said

"You didn't ask"

"I don't ask" he replied

"You do" she said, her breasts lushed against his chest.. "Why?"

"Why what?" He asked

"Why did you...why did you still care if I have someone? Are you still..."

"No" Alex said, his eyes scanned the room now "I don't love you anymore"

Sarah swallowed. She knew he didn't but hearing him say it hurt her a lot.

"I just want to find that bastard and rip his head off. No woman had ever left me..." Alex said angrily "I am certain that am not in love with you but I can't help not to want you"

Sarah felt her legs go weak. He... Alex Smith still wanted her...

"I hate that I want you and I don't like the fact that I hate seeing other men with you, I don't want any other man to touch you and I certainly don't want another man to kiss you...even at the side of the mouth" Alex said

"Alex..."

Alex swung her around and Sarah gasped as her hands collided with his chest, her lips part seductively

"I don't like Kyle with you" Alex said

"That's not for you to decide. We are no longer together" Sarah said

"You still belong to me" Alex said

Sarah shivered, the song was coming to am end now and Sarah was in need of an early escape route away from Alex. Surprisingly, he kissed her forehead and whispered close to her ears

"Next time Sarah, it would be on your lips"

Her eyes locked with his and he gave her a smirk that made her toes curl. She balled her hands into fist as she walked away from Alex as her legs could carry her.

Looking at herself in her bedroom mirror, Sarah blushed, it was true that Alex was one with a lot of romantic words and she had once loved to hear them especially when they both were in the middle of making love.

"I can't help not to want you"

Sarah shivered again, just thinking about his word again. Alex wasn't in love with her anymore but he still wanted her and she also wanted him badly but she was a mother now and she knew having sex with Alex would only complicate matters especially Alex who didn't even have an incling about the daughter that he already had
