Chapter 23

Rose's POV
I woke up the following morning and saw Luna fast asleep next to me. My phone was buzzing next to me causing me wake up. I check it to see a lot of missed calls and texts from my mum and brothers. I decide to call Lachlan, I wasn't in the mood to talk to my mum at the moment.

He answers almost immediately.

"Rose!" He sighs in relief as I greet him.

"Please come home... Mum wants to talk-"

" I don't have anything to say, I'm only coming back if he is gone." I say.

"He left once you did." Lachlan says. "He's staying in a hotel."

"Then I'll be back soon once Luna wakes up." I say.

"Ok good love you..." Lachlan says.

"Love you too bye." I say as I hang up.

Luna looked over at me with a groan as she told me to turn out the sun since it was shining through her windows. I laugh and shut the blinds.

"Was that your mum?" Luna asks as I hop onto the bed again.

"No I called back Lachlan. I also texted Kian to pick me up now." I explain. Luna sighs.

"I wish you would stay longer, my mum and dad are only getting back tomorrow." Luna says.

"You know I would if I didn't have to sort out this... If I'm lucky maybe mum will let me have you over." I say. Luna nods.

"If not I'll just invite Blake." She shrugs. We talk till Kian arrives. We drive home in silence. As he pulls into the drive way he speaks.

"I forgave him." Kian says.

"Of course you did, Kian. Whatever you want to do. He's it going to stick around anyway." I say as I roll my eyes.

"Actually he's looking for a place around here. His company just made launched a new office here." Kian explains. I scoff. I get out the car and walk into the house ignoring my mother and brothers greetings.

I know I was being childish but the man they are letting back into there lives has hurt me one too many times. He never turned up to anything I did when I was younger let alone actually say he loved me every now and then. When he was gone I wanted a dad but now that he is here I want him to leave.

I sit on my bed. I huddle my knees into my chest and lay my head onto my knees. I can't do this. My mum walks in and sits down in front of me.

"Sweetie I know you are mad-"

"That is the understatement of the year. Honestly mum how could you?" I ask.

"Here me out. I know you don't want your father in your life anymore and that is ok but he wants to be apart of your life." My mum says.

"A little late. Even when I was little mum he never cared about me. He only loved the boys. He apologises now but the damage already as been done. I've never had a dad. I had someone I was told to call dad but he was never my dad. Honestly Kian acts more like a dad to me than Dad ever was." I say. "I know I always wanted a dad but now that he is here I want nothing to do with him. He hurt this family and I'm scared he'll do it again."

"Sweetie he will not. I won't let him. I haven't forgiven him but I won't deny my kids the right to know their father." My mum says. Of course she only did this to benefit us.

"Well I'm not going to involve myself with him." I say. "The boys can be around him I don't care. If they get hurt it was their own faults but I'll be here for them." I say. My mum cuddles me and kisses my forehead.

"He's coming over in a bit to hang out with the boys. You can go out with Luna or something." My mum says. My phone buzzes. I check it quickly.

Audition today!! Picking you up in an hour.... Jake and Ethan will meet us at yours!!❤️😘 - C

"Actually it's Chris, Jakob and Ethan's X factor audition today!" I smile.

"That's exciting!" She smiles. "How are things going with you two?"

"Really good. I love spending time with him." I grin at the thought of Chris. My mum smiles before the doorbell rings. My dad was probably here. My mum went to open it and I went down to observe.

"Oh hi Chris how are you?" My mum says. I grin as I walk down the stairs.

"I'm good, how are you?" Chris smiles as he walks in.

"I'm great." She smiles. I approach Chris and he pulls me into a hug. I notice my mum left us as we begin to talk.

"How excited are you?" I ask.

"I'm so excited!" Chris grins. "I'm also so nervous..."

"Remember that you're up on stage next to your best friends and your just jamming out like normal." I say. Chris smiles.

"That's actually great advice..." Chris says.

"You sound surprised?" I say with a smirk. Chris laughs next to me.

"I promise I'm not..." Chris grins down at me. The doorbell rings. I open it expecting Jakob and Ethan but instead my dad stands there. I let him in even though I was tempted to slam the door in his face.

"Hi Rose who is this?" My dad says, gesturing to Chris.

"This is Chris. Chris this is my dad." I say. Chris looks at him and me before shaking his hand politely. My dad smiles, almost reminding me of the good old days.

"Nice meeting you..." My dad says before going to find my brothers. At least he knows not to overstep his boundaries with me.

Jakob and Ethan arrive a minute later and we were off. Ready for the big day.
