Chapter Twenty

Arkin POV

The sun start to rise. The people in city start their morning habits. But the Maven asking to go her back.

"Arkin! Please. Arkin!" Worrying and pleasing me.

"Thirty more minutes." I answer.

But after I said this thing, confronting to stay more half an hour. She starts running while crying. And I don't know. She's crying. I have nothing tell badly to her but why? I chase her. The sunlight is occupying the place but she keep on running. I leaved the Civic parked on where we spent our daybreak.

I shout her while in chase, "Maven! What's going on?" It's almost past 6. I look at my Fossil watch at my right and it's 6:04 already. And when I look on my phone, Nicolette had miss call for 19 times, didn't answer because in silent mode and a text message from her too but I couldn't read because I'm running. Chasing the Maven.

And I was very perspire and tired. The Maven run so fast until she got home back. Nicolette was there waiting.

I walk while the Maven's parents brought her inside their home while Nicolette standing outside. Wearing sando and a short. Waiting for me with, fury.

"Nicolette, we spent the night very happy but why she's crying away from me about six?" Nicolette doesn't answer but her face gets rage until . . .

She slaps me with her full force using her right hand and I was shocked. She answer me shouting,

"If my force have horsepower, I did it to you right now!" She's very angry.

"Why did you slap me!?" I asked her why she do that. And she start her furious talking to me.

"You said you did nothing harm to her!? Then what!? You do what I worry about! I said to you that brought her back before sunrise but what!? You didn't follow my instructions!" She's very mad that I won't speak. Then she added.

"Do you really want to kill her?"

"To kill her?" My eyes gets teary but I have to be strong. I don't know what she was talking about the killing she had said.

And with madness she punch me at my chest but I won't react even it hurt.

She said, "Do you want to kill her!? Did you know that she is suffering with a disease called Xeroderma Pigmentosum?"

"Xeroderma Pigmentosum?" I asked. I heard that before but I don't know where from?

"Did you know the movie Taiyou no Uta!? You had said before! Damn! Don't forget, they're both have disease like that."

"Kaoru Amane and your bestfriend have the same illness? A skin disease?" After I learn that it was that, I been despaired, hopeless and sadness filled my emotions. Learning that they wasn't differ, Kaoru and the Maven both have that, disease.

"Yes! She must not be expose to the sunlight! So get out! Get out! You really wanted to kill my bestfriend!"

"No. She didn't tell everything about that."

Nicolette still talking with feelings rage.

"You know what? My best friend really likes you! She always asked for you, hoping to see you every moment. That was the first time she tell like that in our entire friendship! And I'm happy that you came to us. But the one she like most is the one who make her fall. I had trust you Arkin that brought her back while the skies are dark, but you did worst! If you just follow what I've said, this will be prevented!" And she run inside the house crying. Knowing the Maven's condition.

My tears start to drop.

I've done wrong.

My bad.

I've harm the Maven. I need her forgiveness. I starting to like each other but the darkness came to us. My bad.

I came in front of the door and knock. "Sir, ma'am. Please meet me here." I was really crying because I care.

Her dad, went outside and I filled with fright but he calm said, "Be strong for her son. Go back home. Calm yourself. I will talk to you later, maybe later night. Back here at night. This cause a problem, I had tell you to bring her before daylight."

"I am very sorry sir," And I don't know how to present my face to them.

"Go back here at night. Go to your rest."

Then after that, I go back with the Civic and driving back home in despair. Zhyper calls me at the phone while I'm driving,

"Hey dude."

"Yeah why?" Morosely answering.

"It's too early to cry. Are you crying?" He asked.

"It doesn't matter. What's up?" I asked.

"We had another gig later night. Don't be late."

No! I have to go later at the Maven's! Someone needs me to talk with.

"No pass. Sorry I have important deeds later. Sorry bro. Bye."

And without listening his answer, I drop the call. After the happiness, sadness occur. I was very sad. It's awful. Knowing that she has a disease.

Then after the happening was pass. I parked the Civic on the garage. I saw my dad reading newspaper while take his coffee habit. I put the key at the table, next to him.

"I thought you didn't gave the car for the whole week." He said aggressively while drinking his coffee and reading newspaper.

I won't answer, I just go to my room and to make me strong, I keep watching the videos of her performance ago. The picture of her and us. And it's a treasure. It's almost 7. I have to sleep. I must calm, hoping that the Maven still okay right now.
