Chapter Eleven

Arkin POV

Her voice is soft. Good to hear. She's gifted. She's not only a good string player, she also have a divine voice! After we sing,

"That's a gift."

"What? What gift?" Ukulele Girl ask while staring at me. Her eyes dazzling at the time.

"Your ability. The talent. It's rare." I answer while looking on her.

"Ow thanks. I know you have too." After heard this from her, I quite smile. Very glad that she appreciate my words. She tell me, "I was playing guitar since I was 6. And I enhanced this." And she silently laugh. I saw Nicolette smiling too.

That first night makes me remarkable. Even in a sort of disappointment and embarrassed, it gives me a bit of hope. Remembering those days. After that, we meet four more times in a row on this cold December, at the same place in the same time. I was asking myself, why we always set a rendezvous at night? Is it not available if we met on day? But none of them answer, but they just replying,

"We're only available at night."

And if I ask what the reason is if they doesn't meet me in the rise of the sun, they just only get mad. I'm too naughty for asking-like a child. So I respect this things.

On that very night of the fourth meeting, when I go home. I saw my senior high school cousin named Deniece Alegria, surfing at her Acer laptop. Watching a Japanese drama after watching some ancient Korean drama. Something like Love of the Condor Hero. She's about to have sleep over here because of the free Wi-Fi. Sleep over with our younger cousins. First I deny to see what she was watching. But after, I learn that the girl in the movie plays guitar and that's why I having to see it. I came with interest.

"Hey. What you are watching?" I asked. Interestedly asked.

"A Japanese drama." Talking with me with eyes focusing the movie.

"Entitled?"

"Taiyou no uta." She answer. Keep on her watching.

"Taiyou no uta? What does it mean? I'm not a Japanese to understand their words."

"Argh. A Song to the Sun! Don't disturbed me, I'm watching." And I watch with her and I've learned that the girl on the movie is same as Ukulele Girl. Alright. Not just same that they're both guitar girl, but they also similar on their duties! Waking up at night. I must name her, Starchild. The girl who always with the stars, because we always meet at the dim of the night. The only different of the girl on the movie and the . . . must called Starchild is, Kaoru Amane has a skin disease. Starchild have not. Sighhh.

On the fifth meeting conference, the time that I officially call her Starchild. She ask me why I call her like that. And I answer it well. "You always active at night. Like brilliant stars above." She was happy after my describing. I thought by this, our worlds came closer. After that, I asked.

"Had you ever watch the movie, Taiyou no Uta?"

"Taiyou no uta . . ." Nicolette says. Innocently. They look to each other. There's confusions in their eyes.

"Did you know that movie? Familiar? That makes me amaze for real. Even it end ups tragic."

"I heard . . . but . . . We never been watch that . . ." Nicolette confusing answer.

"Yah, we'd never been watch that movie." Starchild answer too with hesitation. Looking at the cold surrounding.

"That's a must watch movie for the friendship who always awake at night like us." And after telling this, I laugh. But they didn't. I was shamed at that moment so I rather stop.

Nicolette enters another thing to be a topic. She asked Starchild, "Best, what if we invite Arkin to have dinner with your family?" That things great!

"Eh?" Starchild exclaimed. Doesn't know what to do and to answer.

"That's nice idea, Nicci." I can't restrain happiness! Wooh.

"Argh. It's Nicolette or Nicole, but not Nicci. It-is-not-Ni-chiiiii."

"Hm. Let me think." Starchild reply with a smile. Then I smiles too that I can't really restrain!

On that time, 7 days before Christmas. I look at my right side while we are here sitting at the grass plains of the park, looking for the whole area on what happiness covers us. But on that time with my companion, I saw Dio and his beautiful girlfriend having date on the place. Should I call them? Uhm.

"Hey. That's Dio." I point it on them then they look upon Dio with his girlfriend.

"Who's Dio?" Nicolette asking. Drinking her Lipton tea.

"Our band vocalist." I answer.

"E? Another rock band member is here." Nicolette hates metal music. Indeed, I feel on her. "Call him and her girlfriend." She added. Starchilds keeps eating her food and we stare on each other for 5 seconds.
