She swam away from the creature
As fast as her feet would take her,

All she could remember
Was wishing to be better,

But she didn't want this life
She didn't want to be subjected to the water
And she didn't want to be alone,

And how could she spend her whole life
Alone under the water,

Because even though she was miserable
At least she knew she could always make it better,

It's like she could finally see clear
For the first time in forever,
But she feared
Was it too late for flight?

***

She wasn't perfect
She knew she could never be
It's just that she wanted
Someone too see
Her for who she was

She wanted someone to listen
What goes around in her thoughts

She wanted to tell stories
And sing songs
But no one was ready to hear

She wanted to wake up early
And go for walks
And go to late night clubs
Just to dance
Without having to worry about how people would talk,

She could see how stupid she sounded now
She could've just done all that
She just didn't understand how,

Instead of looking outside for help
She should've been happy with herself,

And now here she was stuck in this place
With her legs slowly turning to scales,

She reached the water level
Her head breathed the oxygen,

Now all she could do was float
And float
And f l o a t . . . .
