When I woke up the next morning I almost shit myself I was so scared. Waking up in an unfamiliar place by yourself, not fun. I looked over to the bottom of the bed but Dallas wasn’t there. I heard some clashing of pots and pans downstairs from the kitchen. ‘should I go down there?’ I thought to myself. Dallas might be down there. I heard muffled talking from two or maybe three people down stairs. I was pretty sure I heard Dallas, but what if Mark and Derrick were down there? At least I knew where I stood with Derrick, just don’t piss him off and he won’t hurt you. easy enough. But Mark was just plain creepy, I wanted nothing to do with him! I finally got up and went to open the door and walked right into expecting it to open. The knob wasn’t turning... wait it was locked! From the other side!  Alright well, no matter how much I did or didn’t want to go downstairs now, I couldn’t. Great. I could still hear the yelling from downstairs so I pressed my ear against the door to see if I could hear any better.

“Why did you even bring her here?!” I heard what I thought was Dallas.

“I already told you a thousand times, Dallas, She saw the blast! We couldn’t have her going to the cops about it! And plus, we only did this to get rid of Cody, and he is her brother!” I gasped. Had they killed Cody? No, this isn’t happening. Derrick continued,

“It’s personal now, if we let her go, the first thing she will do is go to the cops! We can’t risk it, Dallas. The job is almost done, we can’t afford to lose the money, or you.”

“Then what are we going to do with her?”

“We have to kill her.” I felt my stomach disappear, I was getting dizzy I couldn’t focus on anything. They were going to kill me?! Why me?! I didn’t mean to see what I saw! This wasn’t fair. I slid down the door and fell onto the ground. I heard yelling again so I pressed my ear against the door once again “I Know this is hard on you Dallas but-”

“what do you mean it’s ‘hard on me’?”

“I’m not stupid, Dallas, I saw her up in your room last night and how you gave her the bed. And I saw you kiss her this morning. You can’t be doing this! It’s too dangerous! This is exactly what happened with Alyssa, you can’t-”

“Don’t EVER talk about Alyssa! We agreed to never mention her name ever again! I remember what happened with her! You honestly think I could forget! I know what I’m doing, Derrick! Don’t treat me like a child!” Dallas shouted. I heard a large crash and then hard, fast footsteps running up the stairs towards the door I was up against. I stepped back from the door as Dallas stormed in the room

“How much did you hear?” He asked me looking down at the ground.

“Who is Alyssa?” I squeaked taking a few steps away from him. Dallas didn’t answer, he let out a sigh and stormed off into the bathroom and slammed the door behind him.  I crept over to the bathroom door and heard little sobs from the other side of the door. Who is Alyssa?

I heard a groan from down stairs so I slowly made my down to the kitchen. I turned the corner and saw Derrick with a bloody icepack slapped on his forehead

“Are you ok?” I asked him.

                “Fine.” Derrick mumbled.

“Can I have something to eat? I haven’t eaten in hours.”

“Take an apple from the fridge.”
