Dear Arielle,
It was so delightful to meet you at my grandmother's ball last week. I thoroughly enjoyed your company. My mind has been racing considering our last conversation, and I begged my mother to allow me to send you a letter, and hopefully more in the future.
After our conversation about methods of preserving vegetative life, I felt that there was more to be remarked than what I communicated to you in those moments. You talked about using a heating source to try and warm the plants, and allow for life, but expressed concern about the safety and relative proximity of the heat source to the plants. I have been thinking about a solution to this quandary, and I found it to be easily solved with a bit of ingenuity. I speculate that if you placed a fire under the farm in a sheltered area, and used ventilation to bring the heat into the farming area, you could distribute it evenly among the vegetation. This would provide heat for the plants safely as well.
With the ongoing hardships of our environment, I believe it's in our best efforts to work together to find ways to farm again. It's been very hard on my stomach eating just meat, and I'm sure that the cows and chickens can't survive much longer on leftover oats. We've already starved most of our horses to save up on grain, and I'm concerned about our ability to sustain food.
On another, more pleasant note, I just have to inquire where you purchased your gown. It was truly marvelous. I admired the vivid red color, and how it accentuated your golden hair. You put out an outstanding image of importance and prestige. The skirt of the gown flowed out like waves, and I have to wonder how you manage to go through narrow doorways. Of course, it seems like that wouldn't be a complication without it, considering your slim waist. How do you lace your corset? I always leave the top laces undone, for I can't suppress my chest area that much. I believe the corset is a tad small. Pardon if that was inappropriate.
Regardless of dresses and corsets, I hope that we can converse more about this pressing issue, and hopefully help our families be restored to their glory.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth
