Damien's POV-

"Are you ready?" I ask Annie. She walks out of her borrowed room at Ember's new house, saying, "Yeah I am."

"Have fun guys!" Ari says to us. Ember sticks her head next to Ari's and she nods.

"Thanks," Annie says, grinning at our friends. We walk outside to my car and I try to open the passenger door for her but she strolls forward, opening it for herself. "You know, I'm not helpless. I can do this stuff for myself."

"Sorry," I tell her while chuckling. I get in the car and I start to drive us to our date spot. She turns the radio on and starts humming along to the song that plays.

"They finally have a R5 song on the radio," she says and I laugh.

"That has Ross Lynch in it, right?" I say.

"Duh," she says. "Don't you remember Ember has an Austin and Ally CD?"

I nod, thinking back to then. Back to when Shun was alive, Light was Light, and we all were at least happy together. Annie notices my quietness and she squeezes my hand. "I still miss him too," she whispers. We continue the ride in silence until we make it to the only coffee shop in town. We walk inside and we stroll to the counter.

"Hi!" the cashier says excitedly. "What would you two like to order?"

"I would like just regular hot chocolate," Annie says.

"Okie dokie! Just like the last couple who came here!" she says. "And what would you like, sir?"

"I would like the Caffe Misto," I tell her.

"Comin' right up!"

"She's so peppy," Annie whispers to me. I laugh at what she said.

"Here you two love birds go!" the cashier says, handing us our drinks. We walk back outside after I payed.

"Where are we going after this?" Annie asks me.

"That's a surprise that I only know," I tell her.

"No fair," she says, pouting slightly. I chuckle at her as I start driving. My phone starts ringing so I answer it.

"Hello?" I say.

"Hello? Damien?" Ari says.

"Hi," I say.

"Yeah, is Annie with you?" she says.

"Yeah."

"Good. We kinda have a situation at Ember's house. Could you get here ASAP?" she says.

"Yeah. Whats the problem?"

"Thanks, bye," she says, not even bothering to answer my question.

"Who was that?" Annie asks.

"Ari," I say, frowning as I start speeding. "She told me they have a situation and Ember's house."

"Hurry then," she says worriedly.

I nod as I turn the car around. "So much for our date," I mutter.

"Hey, its fine," Annie says to me. "We can just do it another time."

"You sure?" I ask her.

"I promise."
(:)(:)(:)
"Guys, what is it?" I ask as soon as Annie and I walk inside.

Ember looks at me, fear in her eyes. "Aralynn and Kade stopped by for a little chat," she says.

"What?" Annie asks.

"Yeah. And she left a little surprise."

Ari shows us some metal thing. "What is it?" I ask.

"It's a bomb," Ari says. "And we have approximately one minute before it detonates."

"Why didn't you call the police?" Annie asks.

"I have no clue," Ember says. She suddenly stands up and runs outside. I run after her and I notice her flying upward.

"What are you doing?" I yell to her.

She probably doesn't hear me as she soars higher. Soon, I can't see her. "Where'd Ember go?" Ari asks.

"No clue. She just soared above the-"

BAM!

I look up into the sky to see the bomb go off. "Did she just explode with the bomb?" Annie whispers.

"Do you not have faith in me?" I hear someone say behind me. I turn around to see Ember with her arms crossed.

"Em!" Annie hugs her.

Ember smiles as Annie let's go. "We should better get inside," she says. "We need to talk."

"I agree," I say and we all head inside.

"My aunt and uncle and their kids aren't home," Ember says, going to her kitchen table. "So we're fine here."

I sit down at the table as Ari says, "Did you see the words in the sky after the bomb went off?"

"There was words in the sky?" I ask.

"Yeah," she says and nods. "Let's go back outside to see if they are still there."

We run back outside to see remnants of words floating in the air. "They look kinda like . . . lightning. Not fire," Annie says.

"I think Light slipped a message in before Kade and Aralynn knew that," Ari says.

"What did it say?" Ember asks her.

"It said, 'There is a mysterious woman at the library. Better check that out.'"

"That's it?" Annie asks.

"Yeah," Ari says, frowning.

"Well, Annie and Ari could go spy on them because they have spy-like powers," Ember says and I nod.

"Good idea," I say. "Not to be offensive, but your powers aren't meant for fighting."

"My watch can turn into a sword, might I remind you?" Ari says and we all grin.

"Well, we better get going," Annie says to Ari.

"Yep. I bet they want to get rid of us," Ari replies as they slip out the door.

"Hey cuz'," I say and Ember laughs.

"Maybe we should follow them to make sure they are OK," she says after a while.

"Yeah we should," I say. We walk out to my car and I drive slowly to the library. I stop the car and I watch Annie and Ari look through the windows. Suddenly, two people in all black run up behind them. They grab Annie and Ari, dragging them inside the library.
