Jacob slowly got up and aimed his rifle to shot Zahariel, but before he had the chance to Zahariel released his machete and pulled out a handgun and was about to shoot Jacob when he was tackled by Zach, who had finally broken out of his "Human Prison".
Zach aimed his shotgun directly at Zahariel's face, "Give us back Jessica. And I won't ask again." He placed the still rather hot muzzle to Zahariel's forehead to inform him that he wasn't afraid to pull the trigger on anyone who was in his way.
Zahariel felt the muzzle burning the flesh that it was touching, but showed no fear and compared to what King did to him to make sure that he wouldn't be a fuck up like JT was, the pain wasn't any way in the same ball park, "If you think that this scares me, then you are sadly mistaken." Before Zach had a chance to pull the trigger though, Zahariel countered by tripping Zach as he pulled the trigger, barely grazing his scalp with only a pellet or two.
Quickly, the stranger caught Zach and planted him back on the ground, "Get out of here! Neither of you are in any condition to fight."
"Who the hell are you to tell us what to do? We don't even know who the hell you are."
"Exactly, but I saved your life, so I'm someone you're going to have to trust for a few minutes ok. Now get the hell out of here while I hold them off."
"So you're going to kill yourself to make sure that we stay safe?"
"That's not--." Before he was able to say anything else, he took a bullet to the shoulder and had to act as if it hurt, "Go now!"
Jacob approached Zach and grabbed his arm, "Come on, we need to get the hell out of here. He's right, we're not ready for this many people yet."
Zach didn't like any of this. Too many questions are suddenly coming up and not enough to answer them or even think of the answer, not while they were getting shot at by all of these fuck-sticks, 'Fine," He points at the stranger who saved both of their lives, "But I'm expecting answers if you live through this distraction."
"No promises, but I'll do what I can." He turned and acted as a shield for a three more shots before he could hear them retreating back to the apartments. He couldn't help but smile.
Good, now I don't have to worry about them seeing me like this.
He removed the mask from his face and tossed it out of the way, far from the fighting so it wouldn't get damaged.
Zahariel ordered his men to stop firing and stared at the stranger questionably, "Why are you not falling down? Are you trying to prove a point or something? Are you trying to redeem or cleanse yourself I some kind of redemption before you die? Why are you helping them?"
"Oh...I'm not helping them. I just thought this city would be better off without your boss trying to run the world through that building of his. In fact, him being dead would probably be the better option."
Zahariel suddenly felt a sense of dread fill his entire body, "Guard Benjamin King with your lives, he's not here for the girl!"
Sasha heard the order and turned her attention back inside, "Mr. King, someone has showed up wanting to kill you. If you will, sir, please go to your safe room while myself and Sara deal with this matter personally."
"Very well, but this matter is more suited to see how capable Zahariel is at his job being a Guard. Don't take away his chance to prove his full worth to me."
Zahariel got ready for whatever the hell it is this guy was about to do when suddenly the sense of dread he had turned to something far worse when he thought that he saw an aura flow around the guy that felt like it was Death and that it was reaching out for him. Through the darkness of the hood, a smile appeared from within the darkness and it made Zahariel feel even more at ease about the situation.
