CHAPTER THREE –

Wade peered around a corner and found that there were two zombies eating a freshman, and he couldn't help but give a faint smile.

Talk about 'Freshman kill day'.

He looked back at the school nurse, who had been doing her best to keep up, even with all of the medical supplies she decided to bring with her in a first-aid bag, even though he knew that those supplies weren't going to do any good in this situation. He waved her forward and pointed down the opposite end of the hall so they could avoid confronting those two and risk getting bit. After she cleared the hall, he quickly and quietly made his way down to catch up her. Once he caught up, he got back in front, slowly leading them to wherever he could find that was safe, even if for a moment.

They slowly made their way further down the hall, when they found themselves being blocked off by three zombies that didn't even know that they were there.

With no other choice, Wade looked over to his right and saw that the classroom that was there looked clear to go into. He laid his hand gingerly on the nurse and slowly scooted her into classroom, but not before fully checking the room before completely allowing her into the room. Once she was inside the room, he made a gesture for her to hide by doing the "See no Evil" gesture. He waited for her to go into hiding before closing the door and picking up a piece of glass that was on the ground, and released a slow, quiet sigh as he prepared himself for the actions he was about to do.

He lunged forward and sliced the glass shard deep into the first zombie's throat on the back of its neck, while dodging its blind attack. He sliced into the left side of its neck while cutting the Achilles tendon of the third one, dropping it to the ground, making it easier for wade to focus on the other two. He slid to a stop and kicked the zombie in the back of its neck, and since there was no longer connecting muscle or tendons at the back of its skull, the force of the kick snapped its neck, and dangled on the front and right side of the neck as it dropped to the ground, crushing its own skull.

The second one turned to where it thought it was hearing noises, and as it turned, it took the glass shard to the eye, but remained where it stood, unaffected by the fact that a shard of glass was protruding its face. It continued to go in the direction it heard the noise, even after taking the glass to the face, slowly approaching Wade. Once when it got close enough, it to lunge for Wade, but was evaded. As it went to go for him again, it watched as Wade closed the gap between them, getting within the zombie's own striking range and shoved the shard of glass further and deeper into the Zombie's skull, allowing it to reach and puncturing their brain.

Wade stood over the body, his breathing slightly heavy, his heartbeat irregular: Nothing like this has ever gotten his blood going like this, his senses whirling. Something for where one wrong move, could do something to you far worse than Death could ever have had in store for one's soul. Slowly a smile crept across his face, but he quickly removed it as he remembered that there was one more zombie to deal with before being able to move on. He took slow and steady strides to the zombie whose Achilles heel was severed and stayed just out of its reach as it tried to grab for him, "How could something so stupid, be so dangerous?" He raised his foot into the air and stomped its head in, feeling the sensation of its skull giving under the weight of his foot, collapse and separate as it shot in all directions.

A small drop of blood landed on his cheek, and out of a reflex of the blood normally being his, he went to lick it off, but stopped himself. He pointed a tapping finger towards the corpse that laid still under his foot, "You almost got me there, you little shit." And wiped the blood off using his tie, and only because he uses the sleeves to his hoodie for a lot of things besides keeping his arms warm. Feeling satisfied with his killings, he made his way back to the classroom that had the nurse in it. Suddenly, he felt a twinge in his heart, one of guilt: He has been talking with this nurse for years while he's been at this school, but yet, he never knew her name.
